hi i have a 96 vs 5 speed when i shift to second gear and it only dose it in second i can hear a crackling noise coming from the gearbox any ideas the oil level is fine im thinking its a bearing if so how much to service/rebuild a t5 thanks guys

hey all wen my car is in nutral sometimes this squeaking noise comes from the bellhousing and as soon as u put pressure on the clutch it goes away and wen u pull the pedal back it goes away 2 wtf !!

yea mine dose that to i just finished conversion wat is the best fluid to use

yea well had a main bearing gone but i bought another good motor to throw in ,so im gonna build a proformance motor :thumbsup:

no bolts are all tight but it isnt play in that way its side to side u know spinning

hmm i took of my gearbox and it still happend i think its my main bearing cause wen i move the flywheel around its verry lose

hey all iv just converted my vr auto to manual and started it up it ran fine for a few minuts then started this knocking rattling noise from the back end of the motor and goes away wen i rev it dose it with the clutch in so i dunno wat it is any ideas ????

where do the rubbers go ???

hey guys im nearly done my vr 5 speed conversion all i need is computer and small things, neway started her up and there was a scratching noise near the clutch and as soon as i put tension on the cluch pedal it goes away ne ideas ranting:

hmm well the box is on and i jackd it up to where it would sit and it seem to be that all the holes line up in a straight line wat u think :whistling :bang:

well my gearbox come from a vn but i dont know wat series i have a vr wagon and was wondering wat crossmember i can use

hey guys im doin a conversion and have a 8 bolt main bearing and was wondering if u have to put a spignot bush the main bearing because there is no bush in the auto because there is no shaft ???

ok i have riped the auto box out and put the manual in and have no idea wat to do with the electricals can some one please guide me through thankz :bow:

hey all im doing a conversion from vr auto to manual and wanted to know what i needed for the clutch i have the driven plate and the fork ( nothing apart from the fork no internals) and the pressure plate still need a flywheel but dont know anything about ?? thrust bearing ??

hey guys im into the conversion vr v6 auto wagon to a t5 out of a vn got the box for $ 350 ( inc clutch, pedals, flywheel but cant use it on a vr motor ) think this guy was on drugs only has 2000 and out of a rite off, got it so cheap of ebay because he listed it wrong neway i got the auto box...

hi guyes the thing i like bout my vl is that itz stock colour was silver and that means that the engine bay wouldent need painting cause it is silver u know the colour of metal so tha can save u some and will not look odd

kool thanks i dont know i wasent taking notice of the tdc or positions of the piston but my mate has a timing light he can help me and i will replace the belt thanks guys ( isnt the water pump a bitch ) basically have to take the frount appart

hi i have just replaced my water pump and i took the timing tensioner off and havent touched anything yet so dose that mean if i just put the belt back on it will still be ok not out of time ( i havent turned the motor over ) thanks :hit:
