Given the VF has ended production the thread should now show VF Holden Commodore (2013 - 2018). I didn't know where else to highlight this.

I have also driven both and was very surprised how good they are. The 4 cyl goes like a current V6 (if not better). And it does not feel like a front wheel drive vehicle. If you are not fussed about a V8 it's worth considering.

Our local holden dealer has 7 new VF2 V8s in stock (3 are redlines). I am sure there are bargains out there for those keen to buy a V8!

There should be some great deals at the moment with commodores. Sales aren't the best, as January 2016 did not have commodore in the top 10 (is this a first for commodore?). Seeing some bargains on this thread appears to show dealers are keen to sell :)

Sorry correction MY15 released Oct 2014 not 2015.

I think the MY15 was released in Oct 2015 - not 100% sure though. Easy way to tell is by the VIN number eg. the last part of the VIN has L followed by numbers such as L123456. The letter before the L will confirm whether MY14 or 15 etc. ie. E is MY14, F is MY15 and G is MY16. example EL123456 or...

Shop around. You may find an SSV wagon for low $50Ks. Noting we are now in 2016, dealers will be keen to move 2015 stock to make way for 2016 build arrivals :) The key is to just keep shopping. You will eventually find something in your price range.

Hmmm, the torque converter sounds familiar. I had a similar issue years ago with a VN SS ie. shuddering with light to moderate acceleration on highway speeds etc. Torque converter was replaced and was ok after that.

On the bright side, you will probably get the 2016 build series 2. Late Christmas present, but with that added bonus :)

The leak is normal when you fill the washer to the very top. My VE did this back when I bought one in 2008. Panicked and went to the dealer and he advised it was normal as there is an overflow on the right side if you fill to the top. My VF does this too. All good :)

Having larger rims will affect the speedo reading. The larger the overall diameter (includes rims and tyres combined), will cause the speedometer to read slightly slower than actual speed. I suggest you get your speedo checked!

VY series 1 had delft Blue, VY series 2 was called barbados. Similar colours but different shades, hence different codes.

If you are intending to buy an 08 SV6, aim for an MY09 series. These came out about Mar/Apr 08. Curtain airbags were standard in these, plus some enhancements.

Go for the Monaro. Why? Because its unique and looks awesome. BTY, I traded my VE SV6 for a Monaro recently. Never looked back. Don't get me wrong, the VE is a fantastic car, but it will just be another VE on the road. The Monaro will always be something different! Cheers.
