Well, before you jump to that conclusion make sure you have 5l in a petrol can in a boot :) Reason being I ran out of fuel when the gauge showing zero, and at the servo I managed to put in just that, 55l. I think the conclusion is when it reads zero, you've actually got zero of useable fuel...

New2Holden, exactly the same thing happened to me (showing 1/8th of a tank then dropping to zero in 2mins, then filling up 55 liters) and I've had a software upgrade done at Holden's. Have you?

The new software did stop the erratic behaviour of the needle in my case. But what it hasn't fixed for me is the exponential nature of it -- it's inaccurate at the top and gets more accurate towards the bottom of the tank. As far as I'm aware this is as good as it can get without getting Holden...

I agree. Welcome to 21st century, Holden. In many ways -- design, elegance, sex appeal. This will be the car to own. Love the (euro) look, I'm a former Alfa owner and all the right curves seem to be there :) Holden has finally made the car I wanted, bringing all of it to us in one package...

Yes, the '05 models have the new body kit, both SV6 and SV8. Deeper side skirts and the front is different. EDIT: the back skirting is deeper too. Example: '04 SV8 '05 SS

'05 VZ SS/SV8/SV6 kit would do. I'm not happy with the stock look of the front in particular on the '04 SV8 (I could live with sides and back otherwise). Some people wouldn't care, hence the swap offer. Never thought about a HSV kit as an option, thanks for the tip!

Due to the tilt of the car on the road being opposite to australian conditions, the following safeguard is void. The backup tank is located under the bonnet and it is in fact your windscreen fluid...

Thanks, I was about to start destroying the dash :) So the signal going to the stock tweeters and stock woofers is exactly the same? I did notice the outputs on the head unit are only FL, FR, RL, RR, so I presume Holden splits the signal somewhere in the loom and feeds it to both the tweeter...

Update I went the other way round :) -- this afternoon I've replaced the Korean paper speakers in the rear doors with Jaycar's Precision Response' coax 6.5" speakers. The difference in quality is quite noticeable, even though I still have the stock head unit in. What I've noticed though...

Well, took the car to Holden and got the software reflash again. Turns out they've screwed up last time and calibrated the gauge for HSV. %@$^$:bang: It seems much better now than with factory software ie it's not as erratic but whether it's actually accurate, that I'll have to see in the days...

Very very very few people can control the car at 200kph on Australian roads, much less the Hyundai. Are you one of them? I'm not. I don't think anyone *really* is. Good luck.

Ok, to change a subject as things are getting hot... How many of the cops on this forum have done some sort of advanced driving course or (at least) high speed pursuit course, not sure of the right terminology? Is it compulsory? Do you have a pass/fail system?

Lift your oil filler cap and check if it's got white-ish deposits on it. If it does, you're in trouble :) It is very likely it's mixing oil & coolant, you shouldn't drive the car.

Wow. Just had a memorable drive home. Took the car in today for the airbag recall and got the car re-flashed to fix the fuel gauge. I gave it 30 liters just before dropping the car off, some 5kms before that. The gauge was going from half to low fuel, to very low fuel, to sub zero, back...

Well.. Not sure if comparing a rental car (of any make) to a car you own will do justice to the rental. They're generally in a sad state of tune and being destroyed on a daily basis by their "owners" :)
