as much as im going with a stroker cos i got it cheap, boost def seems the way to go (bang for your buck wise). There are some decent cheapish kits out there but as eatonv8 said it may cost you a little over your budget but will def be worth it. Good luck

I wouldnt go for wood-grain myself, as i think the normal interior looks nice enough if you paint it properly or get it re-trimmed. The statesman radio surround might be worth having a look at though, it looks a little classier. Good luck.

Is it manual or auto? Id buy it for $10k if its a manual no dramas. Id also have a vs ute over a vu anyday of the week, but thats just my opinion, I love the vs utes, hence why ive had 2. lol Good luck with ur decision either way.

Check your battery and ignition wires. generally ones yellow and ones red... try swapping them around. i had the same problem with my first car... similar symptoms anyway

In my ute (vs maloo) thats wat i got told would have to be changed. apparently my exhaust will hit, and the tailshaft is too long. does it matter that its live rear axle or were the guys i was talkin to full of shyt?

As far as i know ur tailshaft has to be shortened, exhaust has to be modified to get around the bigger box, not positive though, and you'll need an adaptor for it to suit the 5L

ive heard a twin 2.5 system is the best way to go for a stock engine, up to a mild engine but am not positive. the boys on here will confirm or correct that. Also not sure why u couldnt put a twin system on a vp
