    Well done the job today , just changed the blown side in the end , as took so long cleaning one head up and engine was so dirty Any way car seems fine now , misfire is gone and not pressurising coolant system. Thanks for all the help!

    I wish it was just the inlet , but i checked im down compression in 1 cylinder and loads of exhaust gas in the radiator I wreckon the lim gaskets were gone and i lost water and when it overheated it cooked the head gasket or worse

    So removed inlet manifold and exhaust manifolds tonight , the inlet manifold bolts were finger tight ? Going to remove heads in morning, I ordered new rocker bolts but they are still in the post , can I re use the old ones ?

    Sweet so ill grab some imperial sockets As for the head bolts , can I use loctite 567 on the threads and permatex gasket sealant on the underside of the bolt , or does it have to be a actual threadlocker ?

    So have ordered the kit and bolts, I only have a metric sockets and stuff and the engine is imperial ? Do i need a full imperial set of sockets and spanners or would i get away with just buying a few on there own ? Thanks

    Im trying to keep cost down so was going to flip the heads and fill them up with brake cleaner to check for valve leaks. Apart from the loosing coolant and misfire it still goes alright above 1500 rpm , so if it holds coolant and dont misfire once its done , not too fussed its just a beat up...

    So done the compression test The cylinder near the brake master cylinder was 75 psi , also coolant on spark plug All the rest were 110 ish and no coolant on the plugs

    Theres no gunk, but i just run it with the rad cap of and my hand over the top, its defo building pressure and smells like exhaust gas in radiator ? So has to be head gasket i think ?
