Hey guys finally have the second speaker in. Easy-as once you've done one door for the first time ;). Sounds awesome, a lot better than those stock ones that were in there, I can finally set a few EQ settings and bass without distortion :yeah:

Yep the 6" fit in perfectly. I'm not sure about other brands but these Pioneer ones had holes for the screws in the right positions to match the stock speakers, so it was a straight swap.

Thanks guys! Yeah I put the two front vents back in and then the rear one last. I just finished re-assembling the door trim. That's one speaker done, I'll leave the other one for tomorrow night. I tested it out to make sure it worked, but can't turn it up to see how well they sound until...

Nice! I installed some 6" speakers in the rear when I installed the head-unit, but only just got around to replacing the front door speakers. I'll go give that a go now, hopefully it'll come off this time! Cheers :)

Thanks, yeah I've removed the rear connector vent and opened that up, so I can see the back of the two front vents, and I've removed that one screw that's inside there, but there are two more screws that are behind the other two vents. I can't seem to get the vents out to get to the other two...

Ok, I just bought a new set of Pioneer speakers for the front doors. I've seen a few articles in here on removing the door trims in the VR/VS, and I've got everything off except for the air-vents. No matter what I do I can't get them to pop out :bang: I'm trying to carefully pry them out...

Friday arvo, I saw a VY SS with a cannon on it, and then earlier today a VS commy with a cannon... It's bad enough putting one on a VS, but to ruin the sound of a perfectly good V8, it sounded like **** :bang:

Yeah I agree. Jap cars aren't rice, it's what some people do to them! I dunno, you can have a comlpetely out there kit and stuff like that, and if it suits the car and there's at least some work done under the bonnet to try and even things out then I don't think it's so bad :thumbsup:

Well each to their own, as long as he's happy, but I think they make the car sound horrible, they're there to compensate for a 4cyl engine not putting out the same amount of noise as a 6 aren't they? or that's what I thought anyway lol The VS sounds mad with a sports exhaust, really don't know...

Hi all, I'm currently looking at having the door protection moulds/strips painted white, and was quoted $250 for the job. Does this seem like a bit much just to have those strips painted? I did a search on the forums but couldn't find too much relating to whether anyone else had actually done...

If you gun a 350Z t/turbo though won't it eat up as much as a new 8? The VE's would be nice, I like the room inside the car

Yeah I picked up the supercharged CAI for like $60 from the local Holden dealer. Don't bother getting the modified box bottom, just cut out the section yourself. Easy as :thumbsup:

Cool, thanks BigDaz. Yeah my wheels look a bit small with the kit too. Although I was looking more closely at his car, I think the kits are slightly different, so his kit might not have dropped as far to the ground as mine does, hard to tell without being able to see it at the stock height...

Could be the thermo fan not kicking in, the water pump, the thermostat... What about your radiator cap? If that's old and worn it won't keep the pressure properly. Could also be the guage?
