New Dads gather here (mums too I guess)

Trust me. Once your bub is born, all that freaking out will become non-existant. Our bub was also unplanned, and we found out very late in the pregnancy. We thought I was just getting fat lmao. Serious....No other "symptoms" of pregnancy. I guess I was super lucky there. And it is...

    I'm sorry, but...

Family favourite is just good ol' mashed spud with garlic salt. Although, if the other half makes it he puts in enough butter to clog even the healthiest persons arteries.... A close second favourite is Potato Bake. Just layered potato, onion, bacon and cheese, pour over a tub of...

    Playstation 3 Backward Compatible Question

Probably because you can buy some of the "older" games from the Sony Store and have them on the PS3 hard-drive and play them that way. Thats how I play Crash Bandicoot :) Not all games are available though. I want San Andreas, and last time I looked it still wasn't there :(

    Mobile Phone companies

Nah, it's just an average weatherboard house. It's pretty old though. But yeah, I was very surprised with Vodafones coverage here. Before I'd moved back to Tassie, I was living in Melbourne and the reception there was pretty good, although shithouse out the Yarra Ranges way. I'd been told the...

    Mobile Phone companies

I too am with Vodafone, and have been for around 3 years now. I've never really noticed a problem with coverage to be honest. (And I'm in Tas, so if anywhere was going to have poo coverage it'd be here! :p) Indoor reception can get a bit iffy for me. Certain spots in my home, my signal will...

    TV stations Stupid time slots!!!

Agreed. No advertisements and direct from the US. Not these mixed and matched seasons they play here and claim to be "All new episodes". I won't get Foxtel. There would only be handful of stations I may or may not even watch and I refuse to pay for the channels I don't want just because it's...

    Quick LAMS bike

Then again though, if you're only buying a bike to suit the laws until you're on an open licence and you plan on upgrading to a bigger bike, theres not much need to spend a great deal on a bike thats only gotta serve you a couple of years. But if you're planning to stick with a 600 or less, as...

    Quick LAMS bike

In Tas now you can actually go up to a 600 on your Learners. I haven't had much experience with bikes, my father and step-mother are the avid riders in my family. She had a Kawasaki ZZR600 which she loved. Only reason she got rid of it was because they do a lot of endurance riding and she's...

    Speeding Margin to be axed.

    Speeding Margin to be axed.

I never said I agreed with it. Quite the opposite actually. I was just pointing out that if a "Zero Tolerance" towards speeding and a 0% margin of error is introduced is just a blantant grab at more money. It's not going to do dick in regards to reducing the road toll/accidents. It was more...

    Speeding Margin to be axed.

I think people are forgetting that it doesn't matter how accurate your speedo is or what your speed your speedo says your doing. It's what the coppers radar or speed camera say you are doing that matters.

    VE Calais V International

Yeahhh I know. Sapphire was in a league of her own :p Still sad to see her go :( But! She did make way for a very nice Calais. I agree with you though. The only thing she needs is tint, then she's all good! I just hope the trucks and trailers stay away from this one!

    Any Harley riders???

Ah, I've just looked it up and Tasmania has since implemented similar laws to NSW. My Step-mother was on her learners in 2005-2006. That seems much more reasonable. I'm a shorty and the Kawasaki GPX250 felt small even when I sat on it!
  23. 1vngal

    Any Harley riders???

It's the same here in Tas. The best learners get are a 250cc. There are exemptions, but they're pretty extreme. For example, my step-mother is 6 foot 3, and didn't qualify for a larger bike so you could imagine what that was like for her riding a 250....

You haven't been to Tasmania before have ya? Come down one day and you'll see EXACTLY what I mean.... (If you want an example....YouTube. Nobody likes a Bogan. Thats pretty much every bogan here in Tasmania.) :p And the only reason VL's can bring in good money is because the bogans are stupid...

    What's your pet peeve?

I lived in Melbourne for 3 years. I'm allowed to be angry about lineups :p And going from driving in Tas, to driving in Melbourne causes super road rage. ;) (Oh, and you forget we have a high population of bogans here. They quite regularly block the Maccas drive-thru's with their VL's...

They were just on the outskirts of Perth :) People are actually quite wrong about the Tasmania weather. We seem to have a stigma attached that we have the climate of Antartica. So far this year, we're probably one of the states with the lowest rainfall thus far :p However, it's not all that...

I'm not sure bout a 3ltr as we only buy the 2ltr :p But at our local IGA a 2ltr is $2.39. Coles has brought in that $2 2ltr thing down here as well. The Port Arthur area is really nice, however as you start getting into the more "hobart suburbs" things start getting a lil iffy. A friend of...
