it's proberly not even overheating. just ya gauage is rooted. or the senders are stuffed. i had the same problem in my old vl got a guy to test it by using a infered temp gauage. sat at normal temp but but the gauage said different. so brought a aftermarket guage.

coolant temp sender??? under the alternator.... i get 520kms out of a tank an haven't replaced anything.

try changing coolant temp sender

Does any body know if there was a Recall on Series II VR. i was told by a guy at work that there was cause his father owned one. he said they had faulty valve guides. and info would be great. as they are stuffed :mad:

i brought a vr series II not that long ago and the speedo in it has been changed so it goes up every 2km instead of 5kms. just wondering if i can get it changed to factory one. (just the speedo bit). it's been driving me crazy cause the needle is different and onlt casts a shadow over the marks...

try coolant temp senders. replace mine fan starts at 1/4 and sits there all the time even climbing toowoomba range on a hot day.

does any one know a rough figure on a recondition factory supercharged V6?? and what else i'll need to fit into my VR ??

There would have to be somethan wrong if the fan is only cutting in around 3/4. if mine ever got to that i would stop in a sec. personally i would have the car checked out.

I had the system cleaned out new thermostat, hoses, heater valve, coolant, and the guy i took it to said it's only ment to sit on the thired line up all the time. the thermo fan kicks in about 1 line down from half. mine sits there most of the time but somedays gets to half then will drop back...

just wondering where the temp is ment to sit on VR commodore?? Thired Line??

is that to do with the tacho needle dropping???? or the surging?? is there any way to fix it???

I've got the same problem. the needle jumps around at 1300rpm to 1800rpm. but when i punchit through second and thired it surges any body know hot to get rid of the surgin?? :driving:

Can any one tell me?? When i punch it, through second and third (AUTO) it surges.... I've just changed the fuel filter, Air filter, any one that can help PLEASE DO!!
