oh that sucks. first bad thing ive heard about the 6 spd box though. a problem with just yours, or just all the manual boxes in sv6's? seems from everyone's comments (and other reviews i've seen) that the power on take off is no good in the low revs, but once it gets going, it really gets going!

cool thanks guys. yeah i loved my vx s so i'm pretty sure i'll be happy with the vz sv6. just gotta go down to the local dealer to see if he will let me test drive a manual and auto to see comparison

oh man if it's out of these, it's gotta be the VZ II Maloo or possibly the VZ GTS. none of the others fit your car quite right

i had one on my vx. didn't notice any increase in economy or power. just had the wank factor of having a k&n filter. bit of a waste i reccon

i've heard that the standard one in executive etc is good, but i'm just not sure about the 190kw one that comes in the SV6. anyone had issues with the motor, or basically anything that could potentially cost me money down the track with a VZ?

i only have the spare wheel & tyre for sale, which was in the boot at the time of the accident (no damage). the others rims were taken with the car.

tell me about it! i've been told that it crumpled the bonet so much because it hit a corner of a building and had a smaller impact point on the car. had it hit the building front on, it wouldn't have crumpled the bonet as much

a witness called the emergency services, and police, ambulance, and fire brigade all arrived. the police breathalized me and took a formal statement, and spoke to a couple of witnesses, but they did not give me a ticket for neg driving.

the car was traveling at a 45 degree angle left. when it mounted the footpath, the right front wheel glanced a pole and the front hit the corner of a building. wheels shouldn't be a problem as they are only 18" up from 16" standard ones, and i told the insurance company when i got them anyway.

got these photos at the towing yard as i left my motorway tag in the car and went to get it back yesterday. some of what was left of the driver's wheel (pictured) ended up smashing against the firewall, breaking it into the footwell. it pushed the firewall up, which only stopped at the full...

cool well if all goes well with the insurance (ie. they don't say something like "hey you used to have a boot liner! give it to us so we can sell it for salvage!"), then yeah sure. it may take some time to sort that all out so i'll get back to you all on that one.

agreed value = 16000, so after i take out excess, towing fee, and the little bit i still owe on it, i'll probably get back about 12000 not sure what i'm gonna get this time around. would really love another commo (vy/vz s (sedan or ute) would be awesome), but im going back to full time study...

sad story: i was driving home last night, lost control in sydney's wet weather, and ended up hitting a building (after a telegraph pole). no photos unfortunately, as my mobile phone ran out of battery. NOT A GOOD NIGHT! i'm off to the doctor in a minute as i'm really hurting a lot more...

i think that some commodores (not sure for exec series 2) have a cigarette lighter outlet, and also a power outlet. if this is right, make sure it is in the power outlet designed for things like phone chargers etc
