Thanks for that drew. It's just a six so clearance isn't a problem. Also, it's a 15/16" master. I'll have to measure it all a bit more accurately.

I've got the same problem with my vk. I have put a booster from a vr on it and a new master cylinder. There is pressure when the car is off, but as soon as the engine is running and the booster has vacuum it goes spongy. It stops the car (in the driveway tests anyway) but has no feel.

Hrmmm, it appears that it isn't working properly. Someone has suggested that the plungers might be different lengths.

Cutting about 5mm off the bolt seems to have made it fit. Now to get some petrol and see if it has fixed the lack of brakes problem.

I forced it in there. The master cylinder is just touching the bolts for the bracket, I'll take to the bolt with the angle grinder and give it a bit of space.

Ah, cool. Thanks for that. I might be able to get away with just drilling new holes in the bracket.

How does that work if the one that I pulled out of a VR is a different size? The master cylinder will end up being about an inch forward in the engine bay and I'll have to modify the bracket for it.

I've done a bit of a search but couldn't find a definitive answer? What brake boosters will fit a VK commodore? (with an EFI 6 if it matters) I've got one off a VR and the body of it is about an inch deeper than the VK one.

Any suggestions on how to get the pin out, other than that it is hard? I've tried slamming the door, bonnet and boot in frustration but it is still there.

If I've read the book right, the VKs with EFI used a surge tank set up. That's why I was thinking of using an aftermarket one.

Are the VK wagon and sedan diff mounts the same? Someone has offered me a disc brake lsd diff for the vk. We just want to make sure it will fit.

or i could just man up a bit and try turning it the correct way I must have misread the gregorys book. Didn't even need a breaker bar. Next problem - i left the new pulley on my front seat and it has been in full sun for a few hours. Too hot to handle.

I'm trying to change the top idler pulley, not the tensioner pulley. I can't get it undone though. Is it reverse thread? the bottom (ac) pulley was a regular thread.

I've got a set of thermo fans as well, and was going to put them in my vk. They are wider than the radiator though so temporarily gave up on the idea. I could cut them up a bit to make them fit, but that involves effort.

hrmmm, might have to wait. a mate has suggested getting a pintara diff. would that help?

I want to get a set of 4.11 gears for the diff in my vk wagon. how do i tell what diff it is and then what gears do i buy? gotta get a 17 somehow!!

pretty sure they are in the right way. they would only go in the one way. blue tac might be the solution though. don't really want to silicone them in, i do want to be able to change globes in the future!! then again, i have orange LED's now, so they should last forever.

Resurrecting an old thread. I've just put the clear oval ones on my s2 vs. they seem to be pretty loose in the hole. any suggestions on how i can stop them from being flogged or falling out?
