    headunit in glove box

An old mate of mine hid his flash as HU in the g/box of his Hoonda Civic, so given that a Commy is a much better car than anything from Japan I would say that putting an HU in the commy g/box would be easy peasy ya?

thermo fans and cold air intakes combine

dude - learn to read eh?? Read the first line of his intial post - They were wondering if there were any benefits of forcing a bit more air up the pipe, or cooling it, with a thermo fan. Nothing was even said about keeping the engine cool. :bang:

thermo fans and cold air intakes combine

no man - the theory of the brainstorm was more volume and cooler air flowing through the air intake with the addition of a fan - not seeking better engine cooling.... Have another drink :yeah: Fans no good for air intakes or they would have fitted them as a standard item long ago. K+N...

    B+h Ss

I have been thinking.:yeah: If this is a special B+H car then where is the B+H badging? Surely a limited edition SS done for B+H would have B+H on it?? I cant find anything on a B+H special edition SS. If such a beast existed wouldnt it be right up the top of the collectors lists? Im a...

    Wont Fire!???

Thanks dude, After doing my research I found that the sensor was the Engine Temperature sensor for the the EFI and had crapped out. Replaced the sensor and all good.:yeah:
  19. traindriver

    YAY!! I fixed it!

My faith has been restored in my home mechanic ability. My Engine Temerature Sensor for the EFI had crapped out thus making the engine flood. (and not go) Simple fix - replaced the ETS and voila!! my baby is back in buisness. Interesting though is the engine idle has dropped a lot with...

    Wont Fire!???

OK kept cranking and she evntually fired and was real chuggy and ****. The idle was pulsing Got her running a bit and wiggled the wires on a sensor that goes into the water jacket and she promptly stopped. Played with the wires in that area and managed to get her going again, wiggled...

    Mmmmm baby yeah!!

Well it was first registered in 1986, so officially according to police / MOT its registered as a 1986 Holden Berlina. When I bought it and did the change of ownership papers I wrote down Holden Commodore and the lady wouldnt process the paper untill I had the "correct" information :shooting...

    Mmmmm baby yeah!!

Well I rang the local Holden dealer and they have some slightly used 15" hubcaps from a VR that were "upstairs collecting dust". Going to see them tomorrow - reckon they will do nicely. Now just have to get the rims and tyres.
  24. traindriver

    Mmmmm baby yeah!!

OR Could get some big rims and keep the small arse stockies so when I am in a "classic" and "original" mood I can put them back on for those old school moments? :D
  25. traindriver

    Mmmmm baby yeah!!

Dunno about the big rims. I was wanting to keep her looking original as. What I thought might work is to get some 15" cop rims and low profile tyres. Could then fit some budge-o Holden 15" plastic wheel covers so she "looks" standard. Then after that I might lower her a bit so she...

    Mmmmm baby yeah!!

Nothing more satisfying than giving your baby a wash, dry and wax :wax: to get her looking good.!!:yeah: Got my head unit installed no worries, tweeters mounted on the dash. Next mission to get some speakerz. I am fast becoming a Fusion convert after listening to some 5.25's at Repco...

    VK touch control panel question.

The only button used on my touchtronic panel is the rear demistor. Can I use the other switches on the panel? I want to install an amp for a sub and the dude at the shop suggested I install a switch in the signal circuit to let me turn the amp on and off when I want, and I thought it would...

    VK cd player installation

I am going to be installing a HU in my VK soon. I got a nice Pioneer for my birthday which is great cos my VK has NOTHING due to the tight wad I bought the car off not wanting to sell the stereo in it :( I have mounted some Sony tweeters on the dash from a previous life, with the crossovers...

One option for rebuilding a 202

The engine and gearbox was supposed to go into a commy for testing but that fell through and they ended up using the Torana. I noted too that there was a sudden change from Kw to Hp and guess someone made a ****up and perhaps the series got the chop? I have the whole article scanned but a...

One option for rebuilding a 202

Grunt Hunt – Rebuilding a 202 SM style. In 2000 SM mag did a three part series on hotting up a blue 202 that was first rebuilt to factory specs and tolerences using a good old standard Varijet carb. Once they got it back they did the following to spice up the old girl, step by step on an...
