I see now. I would have used that as the return as that is the location of the hottest coolant in the engine. If you go straight to the radiator you'll need to go to the far side/top hose. It's a shame the factory heater hose fittings are on the opposite side of the engine as using those...

Do you really think Russian oil isn't making it to markets around the world? If you do you aren't as clever as you think. The West only makes up a portion of the world markets and poorer nations will be happy to skirt sanctions if it means cheaper prices. There is a HUGE black market for...

    VS #4 V6 T Build Log

Seeing as you have the DFI module removed, maybe straight into the bottom half of the thermostat housing (it looks like there is a lot of room there), I think there is plenty of meat in that casting to drill and tap and it would be a fairly straight shot from the turbo looking at the pics. done...

    VS #4 V6 T Build Log

I'd run the turbo water return to either the thermostat housing or straight to the radiator, no point dumping that heat into the motor.

Just because you have coal produced locally doesn't mean it makes it cheap. Coal, oil, petrol/diesel are all traded on commodity markets which tend to dictate prices. Ukraine has hit 12 Russian oil refineries and the last few days, their capacity to produce petroleum products is taking a real...

Grade 12.9 cap screws are about the same or slightly better than the standard ARP 8740 bolts, just make sure you good machine grade washers with them. Any fastener that applies more load is going to put more stress on the components it's been used in/with. Whether or not that extra load is...

So it's mostly confirmed, the new seal I fitted on the Subaru oil cooler during the last oil change is leaking. I tried tightening the fitting a bit more but it's moist again today after a drive. I had been hoping it was just the oil filter that didn't seem overly tight like it normally is...

If it doesn't have the arrow than yes it does I believe. I only found out about this a few years ago but I've checked a few rentals I've used or other cars I've driven and they've all been correct with the little bowser on the fuel gauge matching which side the filler is on.

Vt Calais front suspension fit into a vs ute

You can press a new ball joint into the lower control arm. But take it to a suspension shop familiar with the job, it's quite easy to **** it up and distort the pressed steel arm which results in the ball joint not been secured properly. I've had it happen once and we put a few small tack...

No argument there, but as you say, a lot of the smaller local stuff could be done by a local council controlled company. There are 2 main roading contractors in NZ and a host of smaller ones but either one of the 2 big ones will win what ever big contract and then subcontract the other. It's...

They have nothing to with NZ construction I don't think. I think the biggest problem is there are really only 2 contractors who can do the work and they both work the system. One has the contract with Auckland council and we get ripped a new one on every job. At this point, It must be...

This! The companies that do the work in the Auckland region are totally ripping us off. Down in Wellington the same job gets done at a quarter of the price. It's time to kick those rip off merchants down the road and get back the business of being a council and doing council things! And...

If you are in NZ, more kids is better, the welfare system is set up to suit large families. Working for families is basically a subsidy for having many kids, you really need 3 as a minimum. Having just 2 kids you're screwed by our government!

Brakes advice - modified discs inherited

Using interest rates to control inflation is a outdated system from the 20th century. More than half of people with mortgages will be on fixed rates so there is a huge lag between rising rates and flow on effect to home owners until their fixed terms end and it ends up putting more money in the...

    SpaceX Starship Launch (Attempt) #3

It's funny how you can only focus on the negatives and ignore the progress been made. Life must be easy when you ignore reality. NASA has been working on the Artemis project for a couple of decades, spent 10s of billions of dollars and has only managed to get one test rocket off the launch...
