Make it Pretty yet again or Rough and Ready???

You don't notice most of the dents when it's covered in clay. Should see some of the cars here, plenty of dents.

Jesus christ!! When are hrt going to wake the hell up????

Couldn't agree more. As others have said, v8's to me have become boring. It's more about qualifying than the race as how often do you see someone from mid-pack actually win compared to NASCAR where they can will from 43rd. Bring back the days of the mid 80's to mid 90's when the racing...

    Battery/Charging Issue

O.K. That sounds better. As for the battery, if it is a straight crank batt (which I assume it is) then yes the worst thing that you can do is run it flat. I still beleive that you need to get it checked for state of health.

    Coolant Leaking On Foot

My money is on the heater core as well due to the connections for the hoses are on the other side of the firewall. Was a fairly common problem, I would be taking it back to the dealer to get fixed as said it is a big job. (Recommended labour time from Holden is 8 hours plus parts)

    Battery/Charging Issue

What do you mean by this? If you are losing .2 - .3 through the radiator(?) then there is another problem (Earth side). The rest of the numbers now look good and if there is a problem with above, then it will only get better when sorted.

    Battery/Charging Issue

How long was the car sitting for the 12.9 reading? Was this after running car or after a few hours of sitting? Having 14 at idle is fine, it's the big drop when loads are applied and no increase in output with revs would be what concerns me. What do you have in the way of stereo and...

    Battery/Charging Issue

If the alt is new and you are gatting those voltages, I would be checking the main harness on the alt to the batt. Was a common problem with them melting. Would be the reason for the low voltages. As previously mentioned, it would be a good idea to check charge rate at the back of the alt and...

    Battery/Charging Issue

With those voltages you will never completely recharge a calcium battery, they are too low. An eco alt should be at mid to high 13's at idle with no load and come up to low to mid 14's as revs increase. Could just be a case of just needing a new reg. If you can get make and model/part number...

Yep, the gaffa tape looked good the other day when i saw it. Didn't look too bad as i drove past though, but as you said it is the boot damage that is the killer.

    Airconditioning experts?

With the inlets, is the 550 x 550 the size of the cutout or the outside dimensions? Don't remember seeing smaller vents when I was doing a/c work.

If you had a drag strip nearby, why _wouldn't_ you use it

Yep, has been talked about for a while now, but the last I saw it has been canned for the time being. Was supposed to be a full motorsport complex, but someone/club etc pulled out so now on backburner.

Voltage Drop on MY10 VE SSV Ute

I don't see this as much of a problem at 13.5v. But you should air on the side of caution and have it checked. May be something stupid like a software issue. Welcome to the dark side big fella it's not quite the same as PP, but can be useful and also a laugh at times. EDIT: Just out of...

BEEP BEEP BEEP - Bulb sensor keeps going off

Lower the fuse cover and look between the fuse panel and steering column and you should be able to see them. There is two of them, then what you need to do is push the pedal down then push both the switches in. This will push the switches towards the pedal and once done, let the pedal go and you...

BEEP BEEP BEEP - Bulb sensor keeps going off

There was a problem with the system years ago were the cruise brake switch and brake light switch were activating in the wrong order. Confused the BCM and set the message off. Try and reset both brake switches and see how that goes.

    VT seat wiring

I worked on these systems for 8 years at Holden. It is in the manuals that the wiring not be repaired. The system only works on 6 ohm resistance, so yes a bad solder join will affect the system and could cause further problems. Like I said previously, DO NOT REPAIR just replace it.
  25. -Junior-

    VT seat wiring

DO NOT try and repair the wiring. The system runs on resistance values, and if the repair is even slightly wrong, the resistance value will change. I strongly recommend that you replace the harness and do the job properly. You don't want this to happen-->:bomb: When you do replace the...

Good Bye to the VY - Engine Fire

Yep, have seen this happen to a Gen 3. On a roadtest, pulled up at a set of lights and saw smoke from the guards. Melted top of motor and wiring, but was fixed under insurance. (Due to near new).

    brake lights not working

As said, check the joins that you have made. If this is all good then on the drivers side of the boot, remove the carpet lining and check the wiring where it passes over the edge of the support metal to see if it has rubbed through (was a common problem).

Engine Fan doesnt turn off with the car

The relay was a common fault years ago along with the fuel pump relay, to a point that a rework was done. If you have replaced the relay already, was it a new one or swapped from elsewhere? Try another first and see how it goes.

How do you remove Holden Assist from stereo?

The best dealer that I know of is the bigger one near Carasel (sp?) shops. Took my brother a while to find a good dealer over there. Seem to know what they were doing. The aerials that I mean are for the GPS and GSM. The reason that I can think of for the aerial going up and down would be...
