    Thanx sleepa, yeah i found on your last coat you have to do a dust coat and literally spray the metallic paint over top of the panel so it falls on the panel not spray it on directly this makes all the metallic particles stand up and really shows when you lay down the clear... and you need to do...

    Thanx for the replies guys :) I stripped back down to the bare rubber and used a flex aid then primed over that... then tomorrow will apply the colour and clear.... Once its all done i will post some pics of the finished product.. (Fingers crossed all goes well).

    hi all, Does anyone know how to repair some cracks in a rubber boot spoiler? I have 4 cracks that go across the spoiler (so front to back) and they are very noticeable. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Cheers

    Just a quick update, I finally managed to get the repair to work as expected. I have wet rubbed the whole car down with 1200, 1500 and 2000 grade paper. This is a pic of the DS guard after it has been polished (ignore the bonnet I am doing that separately). Let me know what you guys think ...

    All good about the pics i will eagerly await them..... lol i read somewhere if you start with 1200 wet and dry on a rubber block, then once it feels smooth then continue with 1500 and finally finish with 2000 and then polish. Takes a while but the result will be worth it. i have done panels...

I have been told that you should leave the top coat as long as possible even perhaps for several months before trying to buff it.... apparently the longer you leave it the harder the top coat will be and the better results you will get when...
