Omega V6 QUOTE=Livewire74;2215990] Yes...gotta be the adaptive auto box trying to be clever (assuming yours is auto)....I find it trys to be a little too agressive no matter how gentle I try to teach it to take off smoothly... I have had sticky door solenoids....most annoying for a couple of...

Yep Get your car serviced by any reputable repairer...should be no probs with warranty... I have just bought a 2008 Omega...same rumbling noises as you go along a Hwy...I suspect the Potenzas...but also interested to know if a Camber Kit is available for the rear...UNLOWERED!! LOL :-)

    Driving with fog lights on

Turd Kind To all who think it is so cool.... Sure Volvo pioneered lights on during the day...in the days well before HIDs that can dazzle the hell out of people day or night! Highbeams on the highway are fine....BUT....people!! if you can see the tailights of the car ahead, GUESS WHAT...

    boot leaking

VS Boot leak another trick is to check if the rubber seal is being compressed by the boot....sometimes they just sit too high (probably from slamming) so...if its bad at the hinge end, adjust those but if the rear is slightly high you can adjust the lock (Up) or the hasp down the bottom to...

    VT - VX Faults

Glove Yep, The glove box mounts (upper roller) on my VX have broken...don't put too much weight in their guys :-( Local wrecker says there is a $110 kit to fix em....I paid $65 for a new GB lid at the local Holden dealer...just remember to change over the locking mechanism

The location of the oil filter is a complete PITA...any tips on catching/preventing excess oil dripping down everywhere when spinning the filter off? (apart from putting a drain hole in thedamn thing first!!)

    VX Accelerator Problem

Driving home last night, I got my big clod hopper stuck under the pedal briefly whilst squirming around in the seat. I went to punch the pedal again and....no pedal :D Got home and found the pedal has a spring-loaded hinged portion below its pivot point (this car had been set up for a...

    1984 VH Vacationer

After many years of faithful (well sometimes reluctant) service the VH has to go. She ain't pretty no more but ain't that bad and is still reliable. She has around 270,000 on the clock and it is a blue motored auto. Remanufactured engine fitted in 1995 and is Flemington Tan with the usual gold...

    VR Rotor Change

Thanks Spot on advice Harvs...belt the old rotors we had to do...rusted on!! A combination of a decent BFH with blows all around the hub and the back of the old rotor eventually persuaded them to move. A little emery paper to lightly clean up the surfaces and a thin smear of copper grease...

An interesting section as I was a PD mechanic for VB's

Sarky!! Great stories, great info..but why so twitter and bisted??? Most of the words typed into these sort of forums are done in haste or without thinking....not the sort of stuff to get upset over. One thing you didn't mention was the early Commodores with a 4 cylinder and five...

Done Done and messaged back at ya....man this VX is something else, for someone who learned to drive in an FJ....Holdens have come a long way:w00t: ....I still haven't even had a look underneath the thing....feels like a non-independant rear end.....goes and hangs on real good.

A/C Switch I have had a recurrent problem with melting the plastic covers on the A/C switch....the voltage going to the bulb must be too high....prolly caused by a burn't out "dropping" resistor some where in the circuit or the use of too high a wattage bulb for the holder!!!

When does the low fuel light kick in?

60 60Ks but don't trust it....10 kms later it will give you a different reading....do not run a fuel injected engine low on fuel anyway

VH Sedan - So long old girl...

1984 We bought a near new 1984 Vacationer because a HX Van just ain't suitable for raising and transporting chillun.....around 250,000 kms later she is still running strong.

need help working out what went wrong

50-80 I would hope the average alternator is capable of cranking out 50-80 amps....you need that sort of capacity to run all the electricals that people tend to wanna run.
  36. V

    Rough Idle

My VH has always idled like a tractor....you go and get it tuned and it smooths out for a short time then it reverts to shaking its head...there is just too much pollution gear to contend with and that inlet manifold ain't the greatest design.
  37. V

What economy do you get out of your 202?

Mpg about 17-20 MPG in normal driving and Ive seen up to 27 MPG on a long trip....the problem is that the Blues etc are so choked down with pollution gear they can't breath up top (higher revs).

    blue smoke

Give it time?? With a newly assembled engine it sometimes takes time for the rings to form a good seal and generally to build up some carbon sealing etc....are you sure there is a problem???
