How do I remove the drivirs side sneaze guard (Wind/Rain deflector)?

Hey, I've just gonnet a VX II SS Ex-Police and it has a sneaze guard, and i'm having trouble removing it and don't want to damage my car doing it, so I want to know the propper way to do it. I can't seem to get a good angle to remove the screw close to the mirror, and the top holders aren't...

Cheapest way to make a performance VT

I've sort of resolved to get a LS1 manual, hopefully something really basic with a fair few miles for cheap like 10k and then rebuild the motor and get some parts forged, then a gearbox which can take some punishment, then look for a twin turbo setup and such.

Not really, I thought they weren't that good. Should I be considering a 5.0L?

Cheapest way to make a performance VT

A turbo can match a supercharger off the line, given the revs of the car are raised for a sufficient amount of time beforehand, to give the turbines sufficient flow and time to wind up. I might go a 6, they are pretty damn cheap. Although I do love the grunt of the 8. I tried an VT II SS...

Cheapest way to make a performance VT

CarSalos only has 5.0L's and they are 12k to 14k for SA. And I have a lead on an SS for 13k. I'd much rather a 10k VT II Exec 5.7, since i'd be changing everything the SS has changed on it, to more performance parts, but I just can't find them, and i'm starting to get desperate for a car.

Anyone seen any VT Series 2 Executive 5.7l Gen3's around at the moment? And what price can you get them for?

Cheapest way to make a performance VT

Yeah, I just haven't seen any Executive Gen3's.

Cheapest way to make a performance VT

If I could get a GenIII for 11k I would be set. But I can't seem to find one, I only seem to be able to find one for 13-14. I live in SA. My current car is dieing pretty quick, but I could hold out a few months, if absolutley necessory. Should I hold out for a 11k Gen3 like a VT II Exec 5.7?

Cheapest way to make a performance VT

Well if I can get a VT 3.8 Exec for 7, and a VT 5.7 SS for 14, that gives the Exec a 7k head start to get the 3.8 upto the 5.7's standards and maybe exceed them?

Cheapest way to make a performance VT

I want a cheaper car, an australian car, and most important of all, I don't fit in a r33. I am 2meters tall, the VT is the most comfortable car i've ever sat in, I put the seat all the way back and it was perfect. The R33 however, I can't drive. I physically can't do it.

Cheapest way to make a performance VT

I have bigger mods in mind, like turbo(s) and supercharger(s). I could get a 5.7l SS for 14 and that would be almost there, and with some little mods could get it there. Or I could get a 3.8l Exec for 7 and get some bigger mods, which would raise the price, but might beat the SS on power to...

Cheapest way to make a performance VT

Oh it can definitly give it a run for it's money, but it doesn't have that feel of ridiculously scary instantaneous acceleration. My friends R33 although modified, off the line really pulls you back into the seats, more than the stock 3.8l and 5.7l's of other friends. I just want to achieve that...

Cheapest way to make a performance VT

Hi, I'm looking at getting a VT Series 2 3.8l or 5.7l and I was just wondering what are the cheapest upgrades could you make to either of these, to raise it to the performance of a Nissan R33. Which would mean a power to weight ratio of 7.34 kw per kg (The R33 has 1367kg and 186kw)...

What to look for when buying a VT II SS

By cold start, do you mean the engine must be cold, or that it just has to be off? I'll be getting a RAA 100 point inspection, that should cover most, right? I've seen a few VT II SS's for 14k in SA private sale in the trading past, so hopefully it's not that rare.

What to look for when buying a VT II SS

Also where's a good place to look for something stock standard and reasonably well looked after, but keeping within 14k AUD.

What to look for when buying a VT II SS

Hi, Just looking for some general advice for a realtively newbie buyer. I've read this page: http://au.geocities.com/commodoretech/vtfaults.html But this list seems a bit extensive, I was wondering what should I be looking for when looking to buy a VT II SS? Also how can...

Where to get Air Suspension done in SA?

Hi, I'm looking at getting air suspension done on my VT II SS in SA. Anyone know where to get it done? I could do it myself if there is some place which I could buy the hoses, bags and strut package/kit. Anyone else had this done and can recommend where to get the materials or where I...

Is my VT II SS a monocoque?

Hi, I was talking to a few people and they suggested that it was a monocoque. In other words, it doesn't have a frame, it's body is it's frame. I don't believe it is. Does anyone know definitively if it is or not? Thanks.
