Brake pad options for heavy duty front brakes on VF Commodore.

Remsa are a more European style pad, very high temperature, but a little dusty. XP are a good performance pad, probably a little on the expensive side. If you're not doing track work, definitely go the Remsa. Legendary! Street Series has been discontinued, 4000 Series is regular line now.

Hi, Apologies for the late reply. We only reopened on Tuesday due to our involvement in the WRC over the weekend and we have been playing catch up all week. We don't really carry any of the Super X pads on the shelf, mainly because the HPX pads cover a broader range of applications for our...

Rotors + Pads for VX Commodore

Won't make a huge difference either way as the pad will be the weakness in that setup. If you went slotted probably the DBA as it's painted whereas the RDA isn't, but in a basic, trade servicing rotor, either will do the job.

Rotors + Pads for VX Commodore

To give you an idea on pricing: Chinese made: RDA Std $35 each RDA Slotted $149 for the pair DBA Street Series Std $49.85 each DBA Street Series Slotted $99 each (Note: Not all DBA street series are made in China. More AREN'T than are) Australian made: DBA 4000 Series Std $132 each...

    Boge turbo struts

Similar to KYB in terms of quality, slightly more on the comfort side, and (unusually) come with a lifetime warranty. Our preference (along with KYB) for an entry level high quality replacement shock. To go up from that would require Koni/Bilstein. Also, side note, very shorty you won't be...

    'pedders or kings' vx berlina

He did get one thing right though, Kings is DEFINITELY Australia's leading spring maker. Just ask DMS and MCA... We used to do Lovells, and stopped doing them due to the very inconsistent quality that was coming out of their OneSteel sourced material. Kings, French sourced steel, choice of all...

    Commodore rally car

Did you see the Brakes Direct (ala GSL RallySport!) Evo's?! Because they can be. The green VE is in the same class as the factory diesel i30, and got beaten by it for most of last year. Power (and to a lesser degree torque) count for very little in rallying. Same reason Excel series one make...

Hi Al, I actually have the perfect pad! We're about to release another one of QFM (300 or so) compounds to market. It's a pad that fits between the HPX and A1RM in terms of performance, but is lower dust than either of them. To suit your car would be $119 for the front, and then just run HPX...

    udgrading brake lins worth it?

Braided lines to be honest are a little overrated, and generally most of the benefit people get is either: - Because the fluid was crap (very typical of most cars), and the fluid was changed by default. - Or because the lines that were on the car were perished and past their useable life, and...

Camaro Brembo brake upgrade on VE SS

The larger rear rotor (ie. the Camaro equivalent) won't work on the VE as the handbrake drum offset and size is different. Pretty much just run the HSV rear, and either have the pad overhang, or grab one of our custom made pads to suit. HPX are $119, A1RM are $179. Fronts to match are $110 and...

WRX drivetrain.... Commodore AWD thoguhts and comments??

5 speeds yes, 6 speeds no. The later from factory is stronger than the control box of the V8's... WRXs understeer from factory due to lack of caster and the fact that 'symmetrical AWD' by it's design means the entire engine is forward of the front axle line... feck all to do with the fact...

    Pads

If you're worried about dust, QFM HPX, if you're not worried about dust, Remsa. HPX are $79 per set front or rear. Remsa are $89 for the front, and $85 for the rear.

    Pads

Actually, not that much. The Project Mu H16-03 which is the V8 Supercar control pad, for most road vehicles are between $490-$590 per front set. A little more for some race type calipers. Expensive versus most performance street pad, but ALOT cheaper than some of the pads they've run in the...

    Pads

We do them, but it's very hard to recommend them as they're just not a market leader in any segment, EXCEPT for probably the very basic trade servicing market, provided people are willing to pay alot more for them. The GCT is a very good trade servicing fit and forget pad in that there's very...

    Bendix ultimate pads

 That says everything about Bendix, and nothing about EBC though... I should hope so! That's not that impressive... If you said 121,000km's maybe! :p Anyways, I've said my piece. As I say, we stock both Bendix and EBC, but given the other brands we also do, I wouldn't put either of them...

I can only assume you work for FMP Group... Or believe everything you hear on the radio... Or have never tried anything else in your life because Bendix had a good reputation 2 decades ago when they actually did make good pads... Bendix's last decent pad was Metal King, and they're long...
