[VIC] FREE: VH SLE RIMS x 4

Hi guys, I have a set of these I need to get rid of: They have driveable tyres on them, pick up from Fairfield, Melbourne.

    where to mount amps

Actually a sub box won't vibrate unless you use 1/4 inch MDF or something stupid like that.

V6 auto vibrates in 3rd gear

Does anyone know why my car would vibrate in 3rd? 1st and 2nd are fine, then as soon as it goes into 3rd and i go above 60ks, the whole car starts to vibrate, and it gets worse the faster I go till I hit 4th, then it disappears (I 'tested' it up to 140 in 4th and there's no vibes). I think it is...

    VP losing power whilst driving

Check your alternator voltage, should be about 14V no higher. My VN started cutting out after pulling off the freeway and slowing down, new voltage regulator fixed that ($50). Definately try tightening hose connections to your heater core, they're probably just loose, and put some stop leak in...

Faulty ignition coil making engine run rough?

When I bought my Series II VN the guys at the yard put a new coil in it cause they said it was running rough. Primary resistance should be 0.3-1.5 Ohms. Secondary resistance should be 5000-7000 Ohms.

    bloooody rattle guns!

Plan A: Get a socket that is just a tiny bit too small for the nut (1mm or so), bash it on with a big ass hammer, put a big ass ratchet into the socket and take it off. Plan B: Get an angle grinder, grind 4 or 6 sides onto it so a smaller socket will fit. Have fun :)

    Removing Ignition Barrel

OK, so I have this manual, it says: To Remove and Install: (l) Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (2) Twist the fuse panel cover retaining clips 90 degrees and allow the cover the swing down. (3) Loosen the lower steering column cover retaining screws and remove the lower steering...

Are you using your old memcal in a new ECU? What if your memcal is corrupted? This will cause a lot of problems.

    Interior colour

Harro, I want to buy a silver VS commodore, but I want one with a black interior, like the red and black commodores. I have only seen grey interiors in silver commodores. Am I screwed?

    heat coming from behind stereo???

Yeah man coolant runs through it at about 100c. Although you shouldn't be able to feel the heat with your legs, if that was the case your dash would start to melt.

    Show Us Your Engine Bay!

Actually I bought it like that (except for new overflow tank) and I picked the red crap out with a screwdriver cause it looked rude.

    drinking at home

Man i get trashed at home all the time (drank half a bottle of JDs last night) and crank the 70s/80s metal. Anyone that thinks it isn't cool is just a wannabe sociopath. I know a lot of people, sometimes I can't be bothered listening to the crap that comes out of their mouths when they're pissed.

    Advancing the cam gears

The first part of what stewart said is correct, take off the belt, move the camshaft and put it back on. I advanced the timing on my VL, i moved it about three teeth though :) It made a difference at high revs as it moved the power band up a bit, so i was getting good power at 4500, whereas...

    DIY window tinting?

Man it's not that hard, all you need is a knife and a spray bottle with soapy water. Spray the water on the glass before you apply the tint so you can move it around when its on. When you do the doors wind the windows down, pull the window rubber out - doesn't have to be all the way, then wind...

vn running without fuel pump fuse

VL commodores have a low pressure pump on the tank and a high pressure pump for the fuel rail. Perhaps VNs are the same and one pump was enough.

    Brightening the LCDs

You can use a capacitor to boost the voltage, bit hard to explain without the dash though. LEDs will definately be brighter, as they are designed to run on about 2V instead of 12V so you'll need a resistor before them to lower the voltage so they dont melt.

    Computer Issue

It's a hard disk problem. ntfs.sys is the filesystem driver. The filesystem is on your hard drive... lol Try a brand new cable and make sure it's the right way round. Even the old parallel ide cables have a right and wrong way.

    Installing cd player

The reason it's shutting off is because you have connected switched ignition to B+ on the head unit. Ignition does not supply enough current to operate the unit properly. You need to make sure the yellow wire on your head unit goes to a constant 12V source (your battery) even when the keys are...

    front wheel noise.

The bearing race (the part of the bearing that is in the middle of the disc) needs to be hammered or pressed out. Preferably with a tool that is softer than the disc itself so it isn't damaged.

    Cold air intake (literally)

Has anyone experimented with using aircon piping to cool the intake? Like welding radiator fins onto some piping, and putting it inside the intake. My pipes get pretty cold, and was thinking... wouldn't they be more useful if they ran down the inside of the intake tube. With fins on them they...

How to clean out a burnout

Yeah it was just a warning if he decides to use it. I used to use it at work, would just get a bit on my fingers and go to wash it off and they'd be all slimy cause I was washing my skin off. Its carcinogenic too :)

How to clean out a burnout

    Drug testing

Howdy, I have been overseas for a while and was wondering how long cops have been drug testing drivers for in Victoria or any other state. Has it just started? And how common are they? I work nights so I get breath tested all the time but I have only seen one drug bus and was curious as to...

    ignition key

Sometimes I turn the key all the way on mine and nothing happens unless I rotate the wiring harness attatched to the end of the barrel in the opposite direction. It only moves a couple of mm but it's enough to make contact and start the engine. I have my ignition surround removed for this reason :(

    Hard out air con clunk

Gday, Does everyones aircon make a real loud clunk when the clutch engages? It's pretty loud man. Also theres a cover on the front of the pulley which is a bit loose, is it supposed to be like that? Was gonna put this in the aircon section but it looks ghetto. Cheers.
