What is the VZ SS rev limit?

I have my rev limiter set at 6400rpm with my edit, only internal mod is the valve springs cause mine were floating around at about 5500rpm. I have Pacemaker 4>1s, high flow cats, difillipo twin 2 1/2in cat back it revs very nicely to the limiter but 6400 is about its safe limit. Oh yea its also...

    F/S: Exhaust Stainless Steel Pipe

What make are these 2.5in systems? What about the 3in and what price is it? What would either of these cost shipped to Perth(if you do that is)?

traction control & rear brake wear

Pre VZ(alloytech)ie the Ecotech use braking to manage traction and I think the throttle relaxer as well but on the VZ V6&8(electronic throttle) this is definately done by as Evman says by ECU with timing etc

traction control & rear brake wear

Not sure about SV6 but VE has single switch but can toggle thru esp & trac. I would think when trac off on SV6 it disables esp as well.

Couple more pics. Thinking of what to do now! Maybe get rid of rear spoiler, swap for Calais syle lip type spoiler and fit centre brake light into rear screen, HBD body kit also on cards(I'll wait a little as new VE should drop prices on VZ HBD spares)

traction control & rear brake wear

The thread starter is named Quicksv6(VZ) so I assume he is talking about his own car Just to confirm Traction control on VZ takes out timing to reduce power until traction is achieved. SV6 also has stability control(VZ V8's do not get this) which uses the 4 channel braking system to apply...

traction control & rear brake wear

What do you mean AWD the SV6 is not all wheel drive the Adventurer maybe uses something else not sure but this thread was about an SV6 unless I'm mistaken.

traction control & rear brake wear

SV6 has stability control too, this definitely uses the brakes(rear) to control traction loss amounst other things. Traction control backs the engine torque off until traction is regained, thats why your throttle goes flat.

    SS Inductions

Check out Ebay there are heaps of LSI systems that have been pulled off new cars. Should be able to pick up one real cheap, $100 is possible.

    Towbar for sv6?

Use towbar with square type removeable tongue. I use one on my SV8. It's heavy duty and costs a little more but looks heaps better than the crappy std type. You can't refit the plug as the towbar protrudes into the opening so you have access to the hole where the pin goes to secure the...

    SS VZ Exhaust

Think you mean rwhp or what mods have been done. 250 rwkw would amount to 320 fwkw. A stock VZ usually runs up between 190-200 rwkw(250 fwkw or around 250 rwhp). As a rough guide rwhp equal fwkw, 1kw=1.34hp and drive train losses around 25%. So multiply rwkw x1.333 to get fwkw. And dyno...

    SS VZ Exhaust

How many runs did he do with it off? When was the original run done? If on different day results can vary depending on weather conditions. The rear muffler is only a resinator so in general they don't restrict the gases as they are straight thru. Gains can be made if the centre mufflers are...

The 2004 VZ SV8 was similar to VYII SV8 in that it is based on the executive body, early 2005 they upgraded to SV6 style body so it includes body kit, leather steering wheel. Not many early VZ SV8 made.

    clutch problems !!!!

Should be demanding a loan car, should get for free as well. Every warranty service I've had done I get a loaner for free, I use my car for work. You need to kick up **** and make a lot of noise use reasons like kids walking to school in the rain, pregnant wife. If you don't ask you don't get.

    count down started

Think you might find a significant difference in price between VE SS and Clubsport much more than VZ. Probably more like 15-20k diff given the adaptive suspension and recovery of R&D for new model. Add insurance costs and cost diff quickly adds up. If I was buying I would probably wait couple of...

    clutch problems !!!!

Bet they say normal, I have VZ SV8 M6, maybe not same box or clutch but they are self adjusting and it may be about to self adjust soon. Mine is right at top of clutch travel before it engages now. Had car in at WA Performance last week having a Ripshift fitted and Mitch noted on a test drive...

VZ SS Cold Air Intake/Short Shifter

Just to add the GM ripshift is way to go. Had one fitted week ago by WA performance. I have just recently had operation on left shoulder and heard would help. It has certainly made the shift smoother and easier. you can make changes in traffic much better with less effort. The shifter in first...

VZ SS Cold Air Intake/Short Shifter

Be careful trying the 2nd hole mod on a VZ the radiator overflow filler is smack bang in the way of where you need to place the 2nd hole. WA performance recommend the Higgins CAI pod style has a black enamal stainless cover so the pod is enclosed and keeps the heat from the engine away. Check...
