Really depends on the car, for all the V8's i've owned, i've always ran 98 ( or 95 in extreme cases when 98 was not available ) but with all my 4 or 6's never bothered with it because they were runabouts anyway.

It's probably tuned for the cam, it would probably run in your car but the effects would be minimal unless you got the cam as well.

In S.A. it's not needed ( kind of ) basically if you want to drive in fear of defect you don't worry about engineers cert's or passing through Regency ( S.A's match to a RWC but you only need one if your defected or wanting to legalize a heavily modifed car ):thumbsup:

Totally agree with the coil packs, the price difference isn't much but the quailty is much better.

i'd love to do it to mine but anyway one or two people i think have done it on here ( don't think they log on much though ) you'd have better luck on the LS1 forums and also why convert it to carby??

Getting your trans serviced ( fluid, filter ) should help and maybe auto choke with the over rev or even throttle cable ( sticking )
