speak to Keas transmissions in thomastown. he specialises in VL jatco's or if you're on the peninsula speak to street and strip trans' in carrum downs, they use keas internals in their trans'

it was for egnitevt. it may sound silly but when the car is on gas t/c will be turned off to prevent backfires.

for the complete setup i'd be looking at around 700 including bov setup as the bov retails at 550 brand new. just for the cooler setup about 400 which includes all piping, but you'll need a bov or get it welded. you have to slightly cut your front bar in the bottom of the centre but mines black...

technically speaking the earth problem is right but you will probably find that it will fail again soon as the bcm receives electrical noise from the headlight switch and eventually causes it to fail. so to save yourself some money turn the headlights off when you turn the vehicle off.:thumbsup:

if the window goes down then stops after about 0.4seconds then its your bcm. (common problem) the auto down timer shi*s itself

it should be ok on lowboost depending on how tired your motor is. the ecu doesn't run a set boost, thats done by your actuator on the turbo. standard boost is 6-7psi. Run standard timing i.e 15degrees and if it pings under load back it off straight away cause you'll say goodbye to a piston or...

you are correct. the S2 motor used the turbo block standard with all the oil lines blocked off.

i would ring up customer assistance and apply for a transfer of your used car warranty on the grounds of distance required to travel to the dealer. but no you haven't voided your warranty if you dont tell them what you have done.

the rb30 is a free spinning motor. so logically speaking you wont bend valves. if you have a orange red spark then the most likely cause would be low voltage in the spark system, ie coil, cap rotor etc. or it could be you have missed an earth somewhere. hope this helps :)

its strange that both gears went at the same time. unfortunately the gears are not made of metal but some crappy substance. more than likely the dizzy gear would have failed first. you are entitled to get a third party to look at it (at your expense) and get them to write a report. and then...

i've dealt with this times before :D if you didn't agree to replace the dizzy gear then they have to pay as you did not authorise it. the water pump could have failed due to a freak occurance but not likely. check for lever marks on the pump when the had to remove the cam gear/ timing...

not turning this into an argument, but mine are good. my car has some "decent" power but nothing too over the top. in some aspects, upgrading to vt brakes is a good move. i run std turbo brakes in mine running different pads and haven't had a problem. but yes their is always room for improvement. :D

good point but the turbo brakes are the same as VN V8 brakes and if in good condition they are fine.
