Mate, if you have already spent that much on a SS induction intake, I wouldn't bother looking for something else. The $/hp is not worth it.

The windows are activated as soon as I open the drivers door of my 04 Monaro. Is it not the same with the Commodore?

That looks ok to me. It looks a little lower than mine but I have 18s on my car. Also, I feel every bump on the road too. As someone else said, that is the price we pay :)

Don't worry, it sounds like a typical stock VT V6. Dr sand_man diagnoses your car as being heavy as f***. I prescribe you a good dose of forced induction.

IMO just buy a K&N. They are re-useable anyway so in the long run you are still saving money

Yes. As I believe, an SS doesn't have extractors where as an HSV does. Not sure about the rest of the system but that alone should change the note of your exhaust.

I just spent $1200 on the front end (steering rack etc) of my 98 VT. It's too good to get rid of yet don't do it! your K's aren't that high they seem about normal to me.

Trans should be fine (maybe not?). You will need to change the springs and the rotors. Not sure if anything else is needed.
