VT Series 1 Tail Lights and 1 Headlight

I have a set of VT Series 1 tail light lights in excellent condition with associated wiring (as pictured). Chasing $80 for the pair. Also I have the drivers side headlight for a VT in excellent condition also. This headlight is only 18 months old and cost nearly $250 new. Chasing $80. Will...

FIT 3" Single Exhaust with or without cat sections.

I have available a FIT 3" single cat back exhaust. It came off my VT SS Supercharged V6. It was only on for 16 months. This system has a fantastic note with little drone. This particular system is no longer sold by FIT and therefore a bit hard to come by. It also has their quieter rear resinator...

VT S Boot & Spoiler White (Bris)

I have a boot & spoiler off a Series 2 VT S Commodore. It is white in colour. Has all appropriate wiring still attached. The rubbers around the base of the spoiler are a little worn, other than that it is in excellent condition. I have no use for it as I have an SS boot & spoiler. Any reasonable...

    V6 vs V8 Thread

I cannot believe you still dont understand. The topic that converstaion was about WHETHER I HAD DRIVEN A 5L OR NOT.:bang::bang::bang: So for the last time READ before posting! Pandaman and I were discussing the low down torque of the 5L I had been asked if I had driven a 5L. I responded...

Thats who I changed mine to (AAMI), plus they had no probs with accepting all the mods on my car either.

Having it manual wont make you any faster anyway.:p It may be more fun to drive but a shift kitted auto will always be faster than a manual.

    V6 vs V8 Thread

He is quite dear, but I have heard the quality is top knotch. The process of converting an L67 to manual will set the average punter back between 6-8g. Thats to have a box that wont fall to pieces every 6 months. I know of guys that have paid closer to ten for a good job when this was a...

    Future Fuel Prices

People do heaps of whinging and whining about fuel prices, I know I do myself, more so if I fill up on a Thursday. But one thing we overlook is that for a non-renewable resource, petrol is very cheap. We usually pay more per litre for Coke for crying out loud!

    V6 vs V8 Thread

Yep you got it right, I did compare an L67 to the gen 3, IN FIRST GEAR. The topic of that conversation, which you obviously didn't read was about whether I had driven a 5L before, and how good their low down torque was, and I responded to it. But as usual, you get something simple and go off on...

Did you find much difference between insurers when you rang around? I nearly halved mine when I switched to my current insurer. ($980 down to $580)

I reckon that Maloo is sh*t hot....They got that one spot on!

    V6 vs V8 Thread

Very good point, and it ain't a cheap/easy exercise to do a proper manual conversion either. I have thought but cant justify that sorta dosh for something like that.

    VT diff question

As said, should have a tag saying LSD. If you have any doubt just jack the rear end up and spin one of the wheels...if they both turn, its LSD.

    V6 vs V8 Thread

I see your point, but your age/location/insurer/driving record and the vehicle you own is definately not within the majority of people on this site. For YOUR needs/wants your have the correct type of vehicle obviously, and that is what this thread was to assertain. But as for the rest of us...

    V6 vs V8 Thread

If you read what I said in context you will see that even though they would do the similar 1/4's around town the 5L hasnt got the goods, comparitively. Indeed, I have driven A VS SS with extractors/exhaust and supposedly chipped. I have also driven a stock gen3. I agree that the ultimate...
  17. Sweetas_VT_SS

    V6 vs V8 Thread

True, to an extent. but as I have said previously unless you spend a small fortune on any 5L, for day to day driving in and around town they simply dont stack up to a slightly modded L67. It will kill the 5L 0-70kmph nearly every time! Plus better fuel economy/rego/insurance. Therefore IMO...

    V6 vs V8 Thread

Another slightly misguided comment...:p The highest out put L67 was 180KW XU6 wasn't it? Or are you meaning just in the VS model? And I see it as a VERY fair comparison as the original reason these 2 were chosen was for the near identical outputs in stock form! EDIT: I would still like to see...

    V6 vs V8 Thread

I guess that depends on what you call easy power and how you were going to use it the majority of the time. If "in the long run" you mean building a car that will be frequenting the 1/4 a lot, or you do heaps of freeway driving and you wont mind spending a small fortune on, then yes the 8...

    What to buy

As said above, a very debatable decision. Before all the dedicated Gen3 boys get in here I would suggest you ask yourself a few quick questions. What driving conditions do you spend more time in? Are you prepared to pay larger premiums, rego, fuel bills? Are you wanting to eventually...
  21. Sweetas_VT_SS

    V6 vs V8 Thread

It depends on what stats you are comparing and of course what point you are trying to express? Doesnt matter what model 6 & 8 you compare, if you are arguing ultimate potential power & torque the 8 will win, if you are arguing insurance, rego and fuel economy the 6 will win. Wouldn't matter if it...

I presume you mean N/A? A modded L67 is certaintly no "cheap family hack". Also most of the bolt on mods are relatively inexpensive.
  25. Sweetas_VT_SS

    V6 vs V8 Thread

Indeed, now that you have almost completely changed what you said it makes more sense, not exactly relevent to the topic but never the less, most of the people on here are talking about their daily drivers and day to day driving, so even though what you say is to an extent true, it doesn't come...

    V6 vs V8 Thread

Realisticly you should not be fighting with anyone, its a debate on an internet forum. Fighting is useless and just shows immaturity and narrow mindedness... If you have a point to prove or an opinion to express do it by using your brain rather than surcumming to some of the dribble others...

  28. Sweetas_VT_SS

    V6 vs V8 Thread

I would like to disagree, it is a great debate as long as you you keep the personal attacks out and make statements that are true and make sense. This thread has been a rare example where this particular subject has not resorted to childish name calling and blatent pig headedness...so far that is:p
  29. Sweetas_VT_SS

    V6 vs V8 Thread

It is not a description at all, its actually an ANALOGY, a very poor one at that. How would a 3 legged dog look the part? Also a 6 wont really ever sound like an 8...

    V6 vs V8 Thread

Ok maybe you didnt read the topic of this thread? It is asking for peoples reasons/preferences of a 6cyl over an 8cyl or vice versa. So considering both those engines came out in a the same model of commodores I think it is only reasonable to make this comparison, after all thats what this...

    Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

I agree, my first interview I blitzed it all, medical, psyche, aptitude, I got caught when they were asking me questions like " What planes would you find at this particular base, what crew do you need to man this particular aircraft?" I failed on lack of knowledge. The second time was just BS...

    Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

I dont think it should be manditory at all. There are some people out there that physically could not handle even just the recruiting stage. I think they should relax the requirements a little and I am sure they will bump the numbers up. I have been knocked back twice from the Air Force. 1st...

    V6 vs V8 Thread

I did listen to that earlier.. nice note, I guess its really just personal preference. ;) I would like to hey, once again, although that would be good, the rego, insurance and fuel would be the reason that I didnt choose it in the end.:D

    V6 vs V8 Thread

:thumbsup:Thats impressive. I have a lot of respect for power of the LS1/2. But having driven a stock one, for my day to day driving I prefer the L67. In saying that I prefer the exhaust note of an Aussie V8 over the LS1 though...

    V6 vs V8 Thread

I totally agree, I have never argued that point at all. The reason I continue with the 5L vs Super6 is because there have similar stock figures as opposed to the LS1/2.

    V6 vs V8 Thread

15.002 @ 93mph. Not real impressive for the power. 204RWHP. Box needs a freshen up, the band change into second is ****ed. Most of the L67's run mid low 14's with this power. I rarely see the track though.

    V6 vs V8 Thread

I posted the redbook figures for both earlier in the thread (post 34) The 6 is better. Never said this at any stage. :bang:Now you repeating what I said! I have never argued that the super6 will ALWAYS be faster. Everybody knows the 5L has potential. You just have to have deeper pockets...
