Mine is almost identical to the first one add a set of Pacey Tri-Y's. I too get the 5 litre-ish burble at around 2000rpm or thereabouts, but it drones in 3rd usually, anything above that it's alright, just rumbles.

My mate i borrowed the street slicks off had a VY S1 SS ute with a whipple blower on it, even his mild steel zorst droned. I hear it's a little bit of an LS1 problem. I'm not fussed though, will still sound a bit better.

On a standard system, yep they sound shithouse. Lucky i got Pacemaker extractors and a twin 2.5" system on it. Otherwise i wouldn't bother.

I went a set of Pacemaker extractors, twin 2.5" mild steel exhaust, Yella Terra OTR and Mafless. Best money i ever spent. That's on a VYSS uterus too. Only problem is it spins the wheels a little too easily now :p Got the lot for about $3300 give or take (parts and labour).

Well the ute now has Pacemaker Tri-Y's to match the twin 2.5 exhaust, Mafless and alloy OTR. Managed to squeeze 227.6rwkw out of it on a Dyno Dynamics dyno. Drives great now. Flows real smooth and the power delivery is hell smooth too.

They sure do. The worst is when thoughtless pricks wash the two inch thick layer of mud off their 4WD's and dont hose the brush off. I don't use them anyway, we have a water tank and a Gerni. Sponge by hand is the only way to go. And i put my soft sponge through the wash after every wash too.

5 litre for sound. LS1 for power.
