    VF annoying window/door rattle

I'd like to thank you for your excellent post. After coming back from Kangaroo Island my car developed a rattle that was driving me mad. The tape fixed the rattle...However, It leaves me wondering (and it seems the problem is cropping up regularly) why only my driver's door: and has the...

    HOW TO MAKE BLINKER QUIETER?

Am I the only one that loves the sound of the blinkers...? Grandfather clock, mmmm, must be by age ;)

    Happy The Way It Is?

Mine is a manual, so I guess I'm in (sorta) control a bit more. The handbrake I feel (my humble opinion) is just a case of getting used to the technology.

    Manual regrets?

Great reply. I sometimes struggle with changing from first to second. Taking extra care with my changes usually is the remedy though.

    Manual regrets?

I had a manual SS VE for four years; never really liked the responsiveness of it. I've recently upgraded to a manual VF SSV V8, and apart from a few driver errors (I'm almost sixty and hadn't driven a manual V8 for over thirty years:() I absolutely love the feel of driving a manual again.

    Happy The Way It Is?

Lol. Yes, agree one hundred percent. As a young adult, I spent thousands on my 4.2 litre HQ Monaro coupe, to achieve the same results. However, I still wish I owned the Monaro :(

Yes, I also lament that fact. Very sad.

    Happy The Way It Is?

I'm overjoyed at being the proud owner of a VF Series 2 SS V, for around three months now. I'm fast approaching the grand old age of sixty, and every day I marvel at this beast and count my lucky stars that I own this incredible machine. I love the burbles and pops as I accelerate and decelerate...

Will you ever buy another Holden?

After recently picking up my VF Series 2 SSV, I've given quite a bit of thought to the fact that this might be my last Holden I'll ever buy. I'm coming up to my sixtieth and have always owned and loved Holdens and I honestly can't see myself in an imported car dressed up as a Holden/Commodore...

    No speedo or Tacho

sorry about digging out old threads, but this was also my problem...I knew I had an ex cop car, and had been previously playing around with the lights as my interior lights weren't coming on. pressed the long button, and tada everything came back on. Now if I could just get my interior light to...

    is it a fuse problem?

Hello, I noticed today that my fuel gauge, tacho, lights for my digital speedo and my indicators clicker have all ceased to operate. Has anyone on here any idea why? Could it be a fuse? Thanks in advance.

    6.0 V8 Problems

Just wondering did you take it to a Holden service place? Just asking as my car(also a 6 litre V8) was also making a noise and the answer I was given my the usual place I take my car to was to change the oil...this made no difference. In the end I took it to Holden: lifters and cams needed to be...

    lifter noise?

Update on my car. Placed it in to the local Holden dealer. I was concerned as I was informed by a mechanic friend that it was definitely lifter noise. I booked it in for a diagnostic and was called later to confirm that it was lifters. As the car is four months out of warranty I was a tad...

    lifter noise?

Grumpyoldb, heck if it is as noisy as mine, I'm wondering why you would want to put up with that is a new car? Which leaves me wondering, if it is lifter noise or injector noise, will it cause damage driving it until I can get it looked at professionally?
  16. M

    lifter noise?

thanks for replying swingn_wasabi, how does one go about telling the difference between the two?
  17. M

    lifter noise?

thanks for replying stirringaxe. Strange that you mention the oil, as it did starting making the noise after her last service. I wonder did my mechanic change the type of oil, what should I be asking him?

    lifter noise?

I have a 2009 (dec build) VE SS (AFM). She has done 98,000 ks and has just started making a clicking noise at idle and at speed, although I'm not sure if it clicks away whilst freeway driving as I am unable to hear it. It makes this noise when hot and cold. Forgot to mention that whilst it...

Okay...when you say 'what we used to do in them' do you just mean hammering them, or do you mean that they're abused in other ways?

This car is immaculate inside and out. Serviced regularly as well. RACV checked. I guess time will tell, but how does one tell if it has been mistreated?

    VE SS Cop Car

thanks...only drama so far is the temptation to put my foot down. Oh, and those drivers that think it is a cop car and quickly apply brakes as they go past. I guess the combination of my age, short short hair and sunglasses fools them.

You are quite correct. It was actually stationed at Bacchus Marsh.

    Driving below speed limit

Driving home from work in the wee hours of the morning. A ricer flew down from the on ramp straight across in front of me. I was in the right lane and had just overtaken a slower vehicle. I had to brake heavily to miss the moron. The driver of this car then paced the slower vehicle in the left...

Just wondering Sly_VY (or any other member) is there a definite answer in regards to wether or not the SS Police Vehicles are modified. I always figured it was an urban myth. Especially in regards to engines.

    VE SS Cop Car

Beaut to get some advice from the long arm...There are a few marks inside; nothing to write home about though. I haven't had an eight since my early twenties, and this one goes 'quite' quick. I'm seriously considering buying it. So perhaps an RACV check will pick up on that sort of abuse, or is that wishful thinking?

    VE SS Cop Car

It's a valid point. I wonder though what would most people call a 'hammering' in 366ci V8?
