This could be related to the Fan fuse? Check that first. The clutch could also be dead which would need to be replaced. Also check that nothing is blocking the fan from spinning freely.

Change the gearbox oil straight away. Throw some of that nulon teflon stuff for gearboxes. If it is still playing up after that, change it or get it checked by a mechanic. Check owners manual for number of litres required. I think around 6L?

I thought by pulling the the connection of the battery off this disrupts the circuit and therefore cause the car to stall?
