The 'bulked up' VY is infact a VE Mule. Ie, a VY bodied car hiding VE drivetrain components, hence the flared guards to accomodate VE's wider track.

I don't think its a hatchback. Its more likely the blue car is an SS sedan, and the other one is a LWB Statesman. Pics of the LWB cars clearly show the same side windows of the car pictured here. The side windows of the sedan are also identical to spy pics of other sedans littered throughout...

Actually, your'e still wrong. Zeta is a new platform developed exclusively in Australia by GM Holden, and has never, EVER been used beforein a production vehicle. The Opel Insignia concept in 2003 did indeed sit on a Zeta platform - which was designed in Australia, as did the Chevrolet Camaro...

Wrong. The L76 6.0L V8 in the VZ from Jan 1 does not have DOD (or 'Active Fuel Management' in GM speak) technology, but it is still Euro 3 compliant. Holden has chosen not to 'activate' this technology on the engine before the VE shows up, probably because they want to be able to spruke about...

I noticed that too stealthy!! At first I thought that someone at Holden had forgotton to put the 'Alloytec V6' badge on some new VZ's but apparently they have stopped putting them on altogether. My work VZ has them, but none at the local Holden dealer...

While you at it make sure the harmonic balancer has no cracks in it...scared the sh@t out of me when mine went, but apparently, its not that uncommon. As is the drooping headlining, headlight switches that break off, air-con vents that cave in...the list goes on and on really!
