    New Zealand Spec Omega

The Kiwis save nothing compared the Aussie Omega. The price for their Omega converts to AUD$39,312. If one were to option the Aussie Omega with A/C and 18" alloy wheels (16" doesn't appear to be an option on the Holden website) it comes to AUD$39,090, still $222 cheaper than the Kiwi Omega...

What do you think of the VE?

I love it, sure the photo's don't do it justice, but this is a car that has been designed by the same people behind the VT, Monaro et al. They are NOT going to release a car that will polarise opinion. It will appeal to everyone, just like the VZ Commdore does now. I'm VERY curious though, as...

    New VE Interior Pics

I'd bet my left testicle that the interior is of an Commodore Omega, with the safety pack upgrade. Its far too spartan to be that of a Berlina. It makes more sense to add a little luxury (the woodgrain, leather seats and some chrome touches) to the base Omega if you're gonna spend the extra...

VE Holden Commodore - Release Date

Plus they would NEVER call a front wheel drive Korean car 'Torana'. So end of discussion!! ;)

I am certain I saw a Commodore VE Today

The 'bulked up' VY is infact a VE Mule. Ie, a VY bodied car hiding VE drivetrain components, hence the flared guards to accomodate VE's wider track.

ACTUAL VE Pre Launch Spy Shots - Library

I don't think its a hatchback. Its more likely the blue car is an SS sedan, and the other one is a LWB Statesman. Pics of the LWB cars clearly show the same side windows of the car pictured here. The side windows of the sedan are also identical to spy pics of other sedans littered throughout...

    Rumours of VE GTS Coupe

Oh please get the fu@k over yourself!! Are you a lawyer now? Go ahead and try and get him for defamation!! See how far you get!! I DARE YA! For a 26yo you are VERY immature for your age. I bet your boyfriend thinks so as well!!

Anyone actually seen a VE in the flesh?

Sorry mate, the 'wrong again' wasn't directed at you, it was at someone else who is presently driving half the forum insane. You're right, I shouldn't have made that post so snappy. If I could email you a cold stubby I would!! :drink:

    VE - Model Line-up Speculation

Here's my guess as to how the VE line-up will go. Its based on the theory that with a 200kw base engine, there doesn't leave much room for a normally aspirated 'hero' six, so i think Holden will go down the turbocharged route (witness, TT36 Torana). I also suspect that a hatch WILL be part of...

Anyone actually seen a VE in the flesh?

Wrong again!! Cadillac does not have ANY cars in its current line-up that use the Zeta platform, although it plans to release a new coupe (incidently called the Cadillac ULS due for release in 2007) built on a "premiumized" version of the new Zeta platform that'll also underpin the 2007 Buick...

    Some VE commodore pictures

Actually the current Alloytech is 'only' 172kw from the beginning of this year, so the VE will be 27kw more powerful. I really like the new look of VE, the VT-VZ series is getting VERY tired looking after 9 years, and the interior is just plain poxy compared to most newer cars. The VE can't come...

    Holden or Daewoo ?

Actually, your'e still wrong. Zeta is a new platform developed exclusively in Australia by GM Holden, and has never, EVER been used beforein a production vehicle. The Opel Insignia concept in 2003 did indeed sit on a Zeta platform - which was designed in Australia, as did the Chevrolet Camaro...

    Holden or Daewoo ?

Yes it does REALLY matter if local production ends, thousands of jobs would be lost, the flow on affect to local suppliers would be horrendous!! Holden would become a niche player as Ford would without doubt play on the fact that the Falcon remains the only locally built large car. The Holden...

Actually, I'm not. Your'e wrong. Go off and check your facts before you post OK? :whistling

    Holden or Daewoo ?

Actually, the last 'real' Holdens were the WB utes & Statemans that ceased production in 1984. The VE will be the first fully Australian designed and engineered Holden in 22 years. Oh and as for the Alloytech being the 'exception', this isn't the case either. Since 'Ions' collapse last year...

This is new new VE Commodore - Exposed!

Umm guys...that IS the original photoshop from MOTOR last year. Nothing new to see here. Move along!! The next issue of MOTOR is not due until later this month. The current issue has NO pictures of VE. The current cover looks like this:

    Vauxhall Omega to VX Commodore

Actually, the Omega is only simular to the Commodore in looks and has no interchangeability with it, except for the outer door skins and grab handles. Every other panel on the Commodore is different (bonnet, guards etc etc) due to the Commodore's larger size. The Commodore is not only wider and...

    New VE Pictures.

Wrong. The L76 6.0L V8 in the VZ from Jan 1 does not have DOD (or 'Active Fuel Management' in GM speak) technology, but it is still Euro 3 compliant. Holden has chosen not to 'activate' this technology on the engine before the VE shows up, probably because they want to be able to spruke about...

    New VE Pictures.

I noticed that too stealthy!! At first I thought that someone at Holden had forgotton to put the 'Alloytec V6' badge on some new VZ's but apparently they have stopped putting them on altogether. My work VZ has them, but none at the local Holden dealer...

how manny commodore owners from NQ

While you at it make sure the harmonic balancer has no cracks in it...scared the sh@t out of me when mine went, but apparently, its not that uncommon. As is the drooping headlining, headlight switches that break off, air-con vents that cave in...the list goes on and on really!

    Commodores

Actually the VE is due in late (Sept/Oct) 2006. Come January, the VZ series 2 will be launched with a revised Alloytec V6 (which gains on-board diagnostics, an upgraded catalytic converter and an extra knock sensor) and the L72 V8 will be included in the range, making 260kw and 510Nm of torque...

Chrysler's yank tank - what do people think of it?

Interesting to see that the 300C has outsold both the Fairlane/LTD and Statesman/Caprice for November, its first full month on sale. Seems that Australians love it after all!!

Is there any mechanical/driveline differences between VZI and II??

NEW MITSUBISI 380 - Pics revealed!

Riiiight.... :whistling Funnily enough, they probably would be as 'excited and appreciative' of the VE Commodore when it comes out late next year. The 380 is a MAJOR model for Mitsubishi, just like the VE is for Holden. Probably more so for Mitsu because it really is a 'make-or-break' model...

NEW MITSUBISI 380 - Pics revealed!

LOL no, not trouble. I'm betting that at VZII time the base Alloytec will be bumped to 180KW and the 5 speed auto will become standard to counter the new 380 engine and improvements to the engines in the imminent BF Falcon. I have to say the 380 does look quite impressive, the frontal treatment...

NEW MITSUBISI 380 - Pics revealed!

Got my WHEELS mag today!!! (I'm a subscriber) here's some interesting facts: There are 5 models in the 380 range: 380, 380LS, 380VRX, 380LX and 380GT (which is on the cover of wheels) The engine which is standard across the range is a 3.8ltr 175kw (343Nm) V6 (yes, even the sports models...

VE commodore .. Is this it?

Latest WHEELS (on sale today) confirms that a Turbo Diesel, probably around 3ltrs, will be available in VE!

VE commodore .. Is this it?

I notice that the new WHEELS magazine has its own interpretation of what the VE (on the cover no less) will look like. The difference between theirs and MOTOR's is that their one is a photoshopped TT36, which they admit to. The WHEELS interpretation seems a little more cohesive than the MOTOR...

VE commodore .. Is this it?

Umm that is a Nissan Skyline GT-R...anyways... I agree that Holden_ve will need to do more to convince us he 'works' at Holden other than just expecting us to believe his crap.

VE commodore .. Is this it?

Umm are you dumb as well as blind? I said it is a VY BODIED MULE yes, read it again a VY BODIED MULE. I did not say it is VE. A VY BODIED MULE (read it slowely) is a VY BODIED vehicle hiding VE COMPONENTS such as drivetrain and suspension hence the flared guards for the wider front and rear...

VE commodore .. Is this it?

What a load of horse ****!!! You can't seriously be saying that a year from launch, none of the interior, final engine specs, suspension etc etc etc hasn't been signed off. Your wrong. They have. Holden will spend the next 12 months VALIDATING the final design with road trips to all parts of the...

    New VE Pictures.

Actually I'm surprised that there are not even camouflaged shots of VE yet, considering mules have been running around for months and there would HAVE to be evaluation pilots out there as well by this stage, considering there is less than a year until release. Probably hand built ones and ones...
