Hi, I have a set of 16x7 VN SV5000 HSV wheels on my current VN. It is about to be replaced by a VT with IRS and I want to fit these wheels to the VT. I know that IRS rims are a different offset but will it be anything to worry about. That is, will they scrape? Thanks

The 1" and 15/16" have the same size body and fittings . The DD booster is longer and pushes the MC further forward. The new bracket is similar to the old but looks reversed. It's just a piece of pressed steel and uses the same holes in the strut tower. Easy to make or go back to the wreckers...

There's no 'squash' in the nylon. If you overtighten then they will just split and crush.

I found (and bought for $35) a double diaphram booster that also had the 1" MC attached at my local wrecker. It was fitted to a VN S2 BT1 equipped V6 Exec. Still had the altered lines and unique front bracket. Made a huge difference.

My advice is to leave it like it is, quiet. Loud exhuasts on a V6 sound shithouse and say to the world that you wanted a V8 but couldn't afford it and settled for a V6.

Mate, Should do OK. I've got the same wheels and tyres on a VN sedan with no problems. They are offset outwards slightly from IRS 16" factory mags so do come close. Same wheels were optional on HSV packs for wagons although with narrower tyres.

Interesting that the specs say that Atlas Grey was only on VN SS. There's a VP SS for sale near me (overpriced at 7990) thats definately Atlas Grey with the correct paint code on the build plate. Rare or not?

My VN V6 had a very similar problem. Rough Idle and annoying miss under acceleration. Just changed the coil pack and mounting and fixed the fault. If you've got a spare it's worth a shot.

Thats interesting and might explain why so many fail with oil pressure/ supply problems. Sounds like the Ecotec wasn't fully developed prior to release. And owners are still paying the price 15 years later.

I'm thinking of upgrading from VN V6 to VS V6 and have noticed that there are many VS ecotecs with blown up engines around. They have low Kms (200-300 000) and often say Oil Pump failure or Big End bearing failure. Is this a common fault with ecotecs in a VS? VTs don't seem to suffer...
