um yeah I broke the thread on mine today it snapped in two now my engine cover is only held on by three nuts. Dunno how im gonna replace that thread now...

geez with that many kms im surprised its still running. i was thinking of selling mine and getting something with around 100,000kms then hopefully I wont have the power steering and fuel pump problems.

the hazard light on my VT has an orange backlight and the headlight switch has a green backlight to it. The headlight switch automatically lights up even if you dont have the headlights on obviously so u can find the switch in the dark. what about the power button near the gear controls...

I thought I needed to replace my mode button light but I just hit the dash and the light came on again and hasnt gone off since, why dont you try that? Ill probably have a look at my mode switch next week when I do the A/c lights anyway and replace the globe it might be loose or something...

but 146,000kms seems alot for a VT 2000 model tho?? I just dont want other things to go wrong down the track already the fuel pump needs to be replaced so the previous owners may have not looked after the car, what causes noisy fuel pumps anyway?

My brother did the fuel pump on his VP but he didnt have to tank the tank off I think with the VT the tank has to be disconnected it looks like a pretty hard job and im scared I might stuff the fuel reading thingy up.

The drivers door handle on my VT feels very loose when I try and open it like its been worn out or something... obviously because the driver uses the car mostly but how can I fix this?? cheers.

are you only getting 400kms per tank of city driving or highway driving?? my Vt gets around that city driving 14.5/100kms.

ok so the spark plugs are on either side of the engine?

where are the spark plugs though? on the passengers side of the engine there is a group plugs labeled 1 - 6 but are they the ignition leads?

what car do you have and how many KMS? ok thats a fair bit of things to fix then on top of that REGO in 5 months, if you dont fix those things and sell up the buyer may not want the car if the tyres and brakes are not too good. Im in the same dilemma as you my car is a VTS with 146,000kms...

The other day the battery in my VT went flat and we used jumper leads to start it again, would the computer be reset after that or would i have to disconnect the battery completely>?

I wouldnt get a VT with anymore than 150,000kms. My parents have a VT Series II wagon and the power steering pump had to be replaced at 110,000 due to leaks and it wouldnt pass rego... My VT S has done 146,000kms and the fuel pump is noisy - must be on its way out? and the powersteering pump...
