    I bought a 2000 Berlina - but I don't know if it's a VX or a VT

Your headlights are VX Berlina/Calais, your grille is VX Berlina/Calais series 1, your front bumper is VX Berlina. Therefore, all that probably came off a VX Berlina series 1.

Could be seals on the steering rack. Open up the rubber boots at either end and see if they're full of fluid.

vx calais garnish install on vx lumina

Cant comment on the wiring, but unless the calais garnish is brand new, its probably split along the top by now and has created a water leak into the lens causing the light cavities to go cloudy and short the globes. I speak from experience, thus i swapped mine for an exec garnish. There were...

    Waiting, waiting...

As previously mentioned, Vin sequence doesnt determine build order. Although, to have 3336XX is probably as high as they went. I dont have the luxury of buying a new VF, but if i did id be happy just to have OCT17 as the build date. There were only 12 working days in Oct where your car would...

    Holden Employees "Thank You"

Everything goes to HSPO (Holden Spare Parts Operations), i assume. Part allocation was planned months in advance down to the last car. They had the build schedule set around March/April. This was planned with suppliers of course, so they had a definitive idea of their own production schedules...

Power Steering parts, is this them all?

Having recently done a full power steering overhaul myself, you've got Pic 2 and 5 correct (reservoir and 2 hoses connecting to it). Pic 3 and 4 are high pressure lines, but neither look like the one i bought for my car (VX2 Berlina). Here's my list of parts. I bought all new genuine Holden...

    Overflow tank

I'd only go genuine Holden radiator cap if it is at fault. Ive had bad luck with cheap aftermarket ones. If coming from overflow tank, does it leak onto the ground directly below? Could be cracked bottle? Pull it out, clean it out, and check it for leaks.

Nolathane Inner Control Arm Bushes Help

Got them out today. I highly recommend the hacksaw method for minimal effort. They tapped out easily after cutting a groove down the guts. All i need to know now are the torque values for all 3 mount points on the control arm and the 4 small nuts on the caster bush.

Nolathane Inner Control Arm Bushes Help

Nolathane Inner Control Arm Bushes Help

My original bushes were a steel tube surrounded by rubber. I pressed the tube out and burnt the rubber out with an oxy torch. Then cleaned up the interior with a wire brush drill attachment. So no, no steel shell originally, and i opted for the 2 piece rather than the oem replacement which has...

Nolathane Inner Control Arm Bushes Help

Hi. So i bought the Nolathane 45318 kit and am having a hell of a time trying to fit them into the control arms. I got one half in but it looks like someone trying on a pair of pants 4 sizes too small and the rim of the bush doesnt reach the control arm cos its so squashed in. I couldnt get the...

VT Equip - intermittent miss between 1500-2000rpm

I had the exact same fault as what you described. I replaced a whole bunch of stuff on the motor until i changed the EGR valve and that fixed it. I changed it with a second hand one from a low km VY cos dealer wanted $300 for a new one. Can go new aftermarket from ebay if you want. I reused the...

    Coil pack check....

How many kms? Does it misfire at low rpm, then by about 2krpm it runs smooth? If yes, from my experience, its the EGR valve that needs replacing. Plugs and leads are cheap and easy to replace yourself. Coil packs can be had for $30 each, easy install. I replaced all these items, and more...

    Replacing steering rack

My vx is in the same situation as yours. Yes, there are 2 types for the vx, standard and variable. Variable are usually in the Calais, and an option for berlina. Hey all. Ive got a kenwood head unit, bought used, with 3 rca preouts. Ive found out the sub out doesnt work. Can this be fixed? can i DIY? or where can it be repaired in Adelaide? Inlet manifold gasket

Hi MACE. I installed a set of your lower inlet manifold gaskets to my vx v6 about a year ago. All good, no dramas. Thanks! I may have a problem with valve springs causing a flat spot at 1500-2000rpm. My questions is, are these lower inlet manifold gaskets reusable? Thanks.

Replacing front door speakers, what happens to the factory dash tweeter? VT VX VY VZ

Thanks again for the advice! Not keen to get a sub, boot space required. I like the idea of splits in the front, disconnect rear doors and install speakers in the shelf, then run off an amp. But could i use 8"s and calais sub mounts in place of 6x9s? similar bass from 8"s and 6x9s?

Replacing front door speakers, what happens to the factory dash tweeter? VT VX VY VZ

Awesome. Thanks Tasmaniak. And if i may trouble you once more, any recommendations on what 6" speaker to buy, or specs to look for, for the 4 doors? Lets say ~$50 a pair, suit dance music (eg d.guetta, paul van dyk, armin van buuren etc), suit amp later on? From what i can find, its Sony...

Replacing front door speakers, what happens to the factory dash tweeter? VT VX VY VZ

Hi ppl. I got a vx berlina sedan, standard speakers, Kenwood head unit. I'd like to change the 4 door speakers with aftermarket 6"s, but would like to know if the factory tweeters in the dash will affect sound or operation of the front door speakers. Obviously they're wired in with the...

Strongly disagree. Personal experience. Ive got a vx berlina. Ive tried FE2 suspension from a factory optioned vx calais, ive tried HSV suspension from a VY R8. Now i have 50mm lowered KYB suspension. Tried them all on genuine hsv 19" wheels. Ive installed and removed them all myself and can...

Elongate the holes at the bottom of the strut where the 2 big bolts go, the ones that attach the disc brake to the strut. That should give you more (less, really) camber. Widen the top hole outwards, or the lower hole inwards. Use a file or drill. Get HSV struts from a car which had factory...
