Hi guys my diff in my vs v8 has **** itself ive got a lsd irs diff off a vs calais supercharged v6 sitting in my shed that im going to put on jus for the time being soo was wondering what oil would be best for it as its been sitting there for while..

Im not 100% sure what injectors they are mate ill have a look during the week from what i can remember there grey siemens injectors if that helps

Might just adjust timing to were its comfortable at for time being if i was to go aftermaket ecu what ecu would suit the best theres alot on the market but not sure which is best

I only changed it because it seemed to advanced and didnt have the engine info at the time with me

I am aware of that im trying to get my hands on a aftermarket ecu as not many ppl tune the factory delco anymore...what im trying to aim for the time being is the engine was grunty when first got it running after setting timing back its lost some grunt

Guys im having bit of trouble with timing settings. I got the engine running sweet checked the timing seemed abit to advanced soo i brought it back to 10 degrees btdc on diagnostics mode and now shes not running well what would be a ideal timing setting and rpm setting to have this engine...

How is that done ??

Ok soo here is final update i swapped throttle bodies over helped the idle issue now im stuck on second part i had injectors that came of vs v8 pushing 220kw at the wheels i put em on now cars revving bit high on idle is it because theres more fuel being pumped into the engine. I checked timing...

Mine is manual cant go from park to 1 2 3 and has no aircon ill try to do it if not swap the iac over

Is that when you rev it to 3000 rpm for 10 seconds to rest it ??

I will also be intrested to know as im going to undertake the same project convert v6 calais to v8

Ohh ok but my issue is indicating that the iac valve isnt operating properly and gettinh stuck am i right?? A tune may help it run better but its not highly modified to need a tune though thats what puzzles me... Ill try my old throttle body see what happens

Ok thanx for all the help guys soo i finally had time.to fiddle with it today heres what happen I disconnected both the tps sensor and iac sensor started the car was idling.good but would.miss on rev i plugged the tps back in and when revving she was all sweet..it was idling like a dream...

Was yours causing the idle to drop and raise by couple hundred rpms every 10 secs or so on idle..the guy i got it off said there was no idle issues when it was in his vn could it be because the dizzy timing etc was adjusted to run for a auto and now its running a manual ecu and gearbox its going...

Ill give it a crack everythings fine the way it drives performance is all sweet just that issue on idle

I sprayed wd40 around manifold nothing changed when i bump up the idle from the throttle cable its all sweet. The engine originally didnt have a knock sensor i put one on thinking needs it to run could that be the issue ill try to unplug it see what happens...when saying worked its not over the...

Can you drive without the iac plugged in ??

Theres two plugs unplug each one one by one and see what happensif it idles nice when unplugged that indicate i need a new sensor

Soo i came to another conclusion if this may be possible seing the engine was on a vn auto and the dizzy timing was set for auto box in diagnostic mode as they sit diff revs could the timing and base timing cause it to idle like this

You dont need a tune for the cam its got

So some update i put damper on stilk the same check the ecu for codes not showing any errors im stumbled

Its got acl race series kit flat top pistons 10:1 ratio stage 1 tourqey cam paper work is at home not with me for cam molly push rods block machined bored honed it was off a auto soo used my manual ecu on it performance wise no problems doesnt miss a beat while driving

Its got the fuel regulator on the return side of the rail but at the feed side of the injector rail passenger side the fuel damper isnt there ill try putting it back on see what it does had a look today held the feed fuel hose when idling and felt it pulsing not sure if its meant to feel like...

Ive listened around the manifold couldnt hear no hissing leak sound manifold got re siliconed and put back on ill try the iac tomorrow

Ohhh ok sweet cheers mate because.what got.me.more confused was i changed my flywheel on the vr v8 to a lightened flywheel and when the new flywheel came the bolt holes were off by few mm's each than had to swap it over for right one thats why i was thinkingis thete diff types of flywheels for them
