Hey guys change of plans...
The wagon will be wrecked, too difficult to get it over the pits now, taking a look at all the little things that will need to be fixed.
Thanks for the help anyway, I really appreciate it, I'll be sad to see her go :(
Cheers
Sami
Omg thank you all so much, you've been incredibly helpful.
Yeah I know the tyre thing was my fault, I'll cop that. I didn't even like the tinted lights anyway, I wasn't the one who put them on so yeah that one kinda hurt.
Good to know the spring compressors aren't too expensive.
I'm still...
Hi everyone,
I've just posted a thread up in the General section as my wagon has just been defected and I am desperately trying to organise for everything to be sorted out.
I need a spring compressor so that my lowered springs can be changed to original.
Does anyone have a spring...
Hi all, ok I'm desperate for help from anyone here!
My wagon was issued with a defect notice today (about 2 streets from home, somehow that makes it feel so much worse). The two things the cop defected me for were:
tail lights too dark (they were tinted, but you could still see the lights...
Update!!!
Haha Sam you're slack with this thread :P
She got reversed into the other day in a carpark, by some old man in a Daewoo. The damage doesn't look too bad but there's about $900 worth of damage to the driver's side rear wheel arch and rim. Insurance is covering it all though, which...
I had the same problem when I got the install done on my car earlier this year. Took it back to the place that it got done, took them about 10 minutes to find a particular fuse that was loose (or something along those lines :P ) and it's never happened since.
I know that's not the sort of DIY...
Good point. I recently did a full stereo upgrade in my car, everything got replaced, and based on the car and the type of music I wanted the stereo tuned for, it wouldn't have made sense to go all one brand. Sound quality was the priority. Put together a system with a clarion head unit, MB Quart...
Hi guys,
My VR's got some serious front-end suspension problems and we can't figure out what's causing it all.
Struts, towers, shocks and springs are all in a really bad state but I'm not going to replace it all because the car's being traded soon so it's not worth it.
Basically I...
I agree you could say that if you like but while we're at it, i'd like to point out that there's actually a difference between 'voicing an opinion' about an exhaust tip, and 'voicing an opion' about someone personally based on one line you've read in a forum.
I mean, Im sure could make a lot...
Happy Birthday Sam!
Car forum addict, burnout champion, detailing God, die-hard Holden man, and one of Perth's Suspect Street Cars club founding members, savage1987 (aka. Sammy) turns 21 today!
Happy Birthday Sam!!!!
Sorry I couldnt afford to buy you anything for the cars as a...
They probably just said 20 because they use a 20-tonne themselves, that'd make sense... after tyres maybe bushes will be next on the to do list. Either that or steering rack!
EDIT: this is supposed to be from savage1987, forgot to log out of the other half's account :)
^^^^^^^ That's exactly right. He's stupid for having done it on his Ls but if he wasn't caught it could just as easily have been 'P Plater clocked at 174 km/h' or 'Hoon cloocked at 174 km/h' or whatever
Wow... that's my boyfriend's project car in a nutshell ;)
how about you know you're a commodore owner when
...you drive someone else's car and realise how much you miss random dash/stereo/parcel shelf/gearbox rattling noises...
... you're proud of the random 5-year-old hanging around on...
That's insane. I mean, that's just not practical for so many people.
Eg. I got my license a couple of weeks ago. My family lives in France, I live in the Perth hills with my boyfriend. Obviously my legal guardians can't teach me as they live overseas, besides the fact I'm 19 so don't have a...
If you go somewhere that genuinely needs security though, you'll know it. I work at a mint (as in, making money, gold bars, etc.) and the guards there are mostly ex military guys who aren't anything like the security guards mentioned in this thread, these guys are tuff as... that's why it's the...

and
"Listen Lois, I know you're a feminist and I think that's adorable, but this is grown up time and I'm the man."
:D
Is a compression change with just higher-comp pistons viable and relatively simple (DIY)? If I decide on this path I'd be looking for around 9.5:1 or 10:1, not sure what the pros and cons are.
Thanks so much for the information guys, PREDATR has actually convinced me that stallies aren't as...
Oh wow, awesome advice :) thanks for that! Getting a car over the pits won't be a problem. If we can get a HK Monaro with a 4/71 supercharger over the pits, we can get this roadworthied :whistling
Ok so assuming dropping in a six is a pretty easy way to go, how easy would it be to actually find one that isn't in desperate need of a rebuild, or find one at all?
The girly ones aren't really my thing... I'd rather forget about the $4000 and save up for a HJ Premier to do up if those were...
omg what a hopeless cause. Looking at a mint sunbird for 2 grand so I've certainly got some room for improvement but if there's not much improvement to be had it won't be worth it. I don't like my alternative though... probably something riced and turbo-ed.
My mum (the one giving me the money) lives smack-bang in the centre of paris and therefore can't possibly see why anyone would need anything more than a 4-cyl, let alone a P-Plater. I can't really get a barina though... I've spent a lot of time paying out chicks in barinas so if i got one I...

I'm the one looking at the car btw :)
I would get the six, but to cut a long story short, I've been given $4000 to go towards a 4-cyl and a 4-cyl ONLY. Not my rules, obviously, but there you go. I'm entirely aware that it would be more sensible to get the 6 but thats not possible so we're just...
I've read about someone who's gotten their sunbird's engine ported and polished and had a "double throat webber carby"... that sounds impressive. Is it though? (I'm a bit of a novice here)
Ah Cogez, we love the car anyway. Just think of it as unique. Say you did it all on purpose to make it kustom, uleh.
At least you didn't get the glow-in-the-dark fluid from a glow stick spilled across the back seat - sorry to that taxi driver, it was an accident, really.
Right, but that doesn't mean people aren't allowed to buy and mod an 8 and also want to keep an eye on their fuel economy. Plenty of people have good reasons to have a V8 as a daily driver, so being worried about fuel economy is legit.
