    Cam ok for boost?

Cheers mate, misses gave the OK for the blower so I have recently done some "get ready" work to the gearbox and diff. Surge tank and dual pumps to go then hello Harrop!!! :)

    Luke's OR5UM VZ SSZ

Just a quick update, as its been long overdue. The misses has signed off on a Harrop HTV2300 blower and as such I've been doing some work to get it ready for the blower. Yesterday I picked it up after having an Xtreme Twin Plate Organic Clutch Kit and JHP Pro Billet Adjustable Short Shifter...

    Cam ok for boost?

I have a 2005 VZ SSZ LS1 with the CNC Higgins Heads and the following cam: Camtech Cam CT2871 49919A/49907A-112 224˚ 228˚ .580" .591" 112˚ LSA The car is making 294rwkw and I want to make some more power. I'm thinking about going down the SC route but I'm worried that with this cam it...

    LS1 Camtech Cam

Been a while since I've been on here but that's me mate, 6 months later than you were maybe hoping for but hopefully my thread was helpful to you, and if not I'm happy to try and assist further if you have any questions now?

    2004 VY S Manual Sedan!

That's a very neat looking car and you're gonna love the Raptor mate, I had a VS with one on it, unintercooled and it was loads of fun. Couldn't agree more with vy1tonnerbloke too, Tim is fantastic, great bloke and always willing to help out and answer any questions.

    Luke's OR5UM VZ SSZ

So just a couple of new upgrades: T3 DBA 4000 Series rotors and EBC Redstuff pads plus 18x8.5" ANZ Velvets wrapped in 245/40R18 Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE003's. 18's with new rotors and pads Tough Spec

    [LS1] Expected Power/Torque Figures?

Just if anyone is interested. The car made 293.7rwkw and 577.9nm
  8. LM8185

    Luke's OR5UM VZ SSZ

So a minor update, I dropped the car off to the tuner this morning to rectify the issues above and I just picked it up. He had a look at the dyno sheet air/fuel graph and said that he put a bit more fuel in down low for daily driving changes etc and hasn't changed that but he did add some fuel...
  9. LM8185

    Luke's OR5UM VZ SSZ

Overall I'm extremely happy with it but I'll be honest, driveability does need some work. Very low down revs struggle under load while turning etc, reversing to park, fast food drive through etc but that could partially come down to me never having driven a cammed car before. The guy who ran the...

    Luke's OR5UM VZ SSZ

New dyno figure in the first post. The car made 293.7rwkw and 577.9nm after the head and cam package with the same dyno and operator as the previous runs. That's a 68.4rwkw and 129.2nm gain. He said it's still got more in it based on air/fuel ratio too. Pretty happy with that atm.

    Luke's OR5UM VZ SSZ

So I got the car back yesterday afternoon. Torquey, Lumpy and fun as all hell. I can't wait to throw it on the dyno and get it on the track. New video link in the info post in this thread on page 1.

    [LS1] Expected Power/Torque Figures?

I agree and always have, that said I also am curious as to the numbers too but yeah, the numbers that matter are printed on the time slip after driving 400m as fast as possible.
  13. LM8185

    [LS1] Expected Power/Torque Figures?

I'll hopefully have the car back tomorrow :) or Tuesday :( and on the same dyno as previously tested at 225.3rwkw sometime this week for after numbers. I wish I had it back Friday as hoped cos I think there is a street meet drag day at WSID today that I would have loved to get out and test it...

    [LS1] Expected Power/Torque Figures?

The reason we are doing the heads is cos the lifters were being done anyway so seeing as they were off figured why not, sort of the opposite of what you suggested but with the same result. I only wanted a mild cam as it's literally a daily driver, to and from work, kids to school, full on daily...
  15. LM8185

    Luke's OR5UM VZ SSZ

I've always had the same profile and not noticed any issues, no scrubbing etc. That said though it's the standard FE2 suspension so that might be why too. In other news the cam profile going in has been changed. I was going to run a 216/226 112 but several people have said they think that is...
  16. LM8185

    [LS1] Expected Power/Torque Figures?

So a slight change, I just spoke to the tuner and he's run some numbers and based on the change in compression with the ported heads, and a few other things I don't quite understand if I'm being completely honest, plus the fact it's a manual running 3.73:1 diff gears already he's changing the...
  17. LM8185

    Luke's OR5UM VZ SSZ

I just checked a photo I have of them close up and they are definitely 225/35's which is what I was told to use by the tyre place. I'm not an expert so have to differ to the experts, who maybe aren't experts... Who can tell these days? When I have cruise control on and go through a speed camera...
  18. LM8185

    [LS1] Expected Power/Torque Figures?

Its running standard (on the SSZ models) 3.73:1 diff gears. Its a Mainline dyno that I got my previous figures on (201rwkw with just the catback and 225.3rwkw with the same catback plus VCM OTR and custom maf tune) and from what I've heard the Mainlines are the most accurate. The tuner doing...

    [LS1] Expected Power/Torque Figures?

I have a 2005 VZ SSZ with the T56 backed 5.7L LS1 V8. Current mods are 4into1 Pacemaker 1&3/4 extractors, 100CPI stainless cats, 2&1/2" stainless X-Force catback exhaust with rear resonator removed, VCM OTR and maf retained custom tune. Matt's Quicksilver VZ SSZ Commodore

Nice car mate. I love the SSZ, hence why I bought one. I got my VZ Senator Boot Lip Spoiler off eBay. It's a fibreglass aftermarket one so unless you want genuine, here's a link that might help you out: Holden VY VZ Senator Style Bobtail Spoiler Wing | eBay

    Luke's OR5UM VZ SSZ

Thanks mate. The Mach Five button? As in Speed Racer? While that'd be fun I've always preferred KITT myself. The turbo boost should get me safely over those pesky high driveways. HAHAHA!!!
  23. LM8185

    Luke's OR5UM VZ SSZ

I know. I've considered that too. The problem is that I have spent A LOT more than I probably should have on my car this week. Extractors, Cats, Head/Cam Package and retune so I think if I throw several more grands at my car my misses will kill me. lol
  24. LM8185

    Luke's OR5UM VZ SSZ

Thought about lowering it slightly? Yes. Thought about slamming it on its ass? Absolutely, unfortunately several driveways in my life cause issues as it is even driving slowly, angled in etc so lowering would only add to those issues.

Thanks mate, me too. It's kinda my thing. My bike has the same colour theme. I loves my go fast toys.

    A Manual VS SS

Nice looking VS mate, i love that colour (As mine shows) and yeah, I agree about dropping the spoiler and adding a VS Bobtail (As mine also shows). They just give the tough look of no spoiler but also finish off the rear end with that little bit extra. Any power adders on the cards? Stroker...

    LM8185's Raptor Blown VS V6

That's what the dyno guy suggested too, he asked if id changed anything recently and I said fuel pump a couple of months ago, he said it could be faulty, or a faulty/dead/dirty/dying AFM. He also told me the amount of times he's seen a lean air/fuel mixture from a faulty AFM sap so much power...

    LM8185's Raptor Blown VS V6

As promised, good or bad here is the dyno sheet from 10am this morning. Unfortunately its bad... she only put out 126.5rwkw, and she is running even leaner than the first time i had issues with a lean air/fuel mixture. Attached is a Dyno sheet showing the last good run (13:1), and the...

    LM8185's Raptor Blown VS V6

Nah mate, she's still not intercooled. Cash is the main reason for that, but also time, cos she is my daily driver. It is on the cards, but so are a few other things that may be a while. Im thinking the next major upgrade will be the 3.7 diff gears and minispool...

WOW to the seats and the brakes mate and I love the Sigs too, kind of common or not, they definately suit everything the roll under. VERY nice, clean VS you have there mate.

    LM8185's Raptor Blown VS V6

Boost guage is fitted, but it seems to be running slightly low, max ive seen is about 7PSI (under load). It hits 9PSI easily in neutral... and the Raptor should deliver around 9PSI on road. The last dyno run showed about 9.2PSI, which put out 183.4rwkw and didnt have the MACE Manifold Spacer...

Jason's 95 VS, work in progress

Nice looking car you got there mate, as previously said, drop her and she will look a $hit load better. As for your future plans mate, you mentioned a Clubsport bodykit, is that a VS one or something different? I only ask as i have a VS myself, with a VX Clubsport bodykit and also the VZ Guard...

    LM8185's Raptor Blown VS V6

Just got the time to put the Manifold Spacer on today, so i havent had her on the dyno again... yet. Will hopefully be within a week or two... depends on a few commitments i have... mainly work. As soon as she comes off the dyno, i will post up the results and the dyno sheet, even if for some...

    Check This VS Out :)

Ive seen a few LS1 conversions in the VS's, and they are sweet as. Most memorable ones that stick out in my memory are a Vortech Supercharged LS1 that I saw somewhere a while back, and an N/A one in S/C Mag dedicated to his brother - that one was quite a long time ago now... Mate, havent...

    Check This VS Out :)

Nice looking car mate, I love the photoshopped pics too, some bigger rims will be good. Good luck with the LS1 conversion. I originally wanted to go down that path, then decided to charge it instead. However you decide to go, you'll enjoy the extra power.

    the new [sn'58'tn]

Is there any Commodore those rims don't look good on? If there is im yet to see it. That's one tough ride mate. Any future plans for it?

    Beardie's VR Calais V8

The new rims make it look tough mate. Very nice Calais. When you say new Auto built for more power, do you still mean the 355 or you want something else? Maybe throw a blower ontop of the Stroker? :)

    LM8185's Raptor Blown VS V6

I just ordered the 12mm Mace Manifold Spacer and it will be on about 20-30 minutes after it arrives... roughly. :) After that, i WILL throw it on the dyno to check gains (even though i have been saying that for a while), and then ASAP after that (even though the misses is scared something bad...
