VX Clubsport - T56 Fluid and Diff Oil

Thanks guys, After looking around I think the Penrite might be a go. Autobahn and Supercreep don't stock it but can order it in. Dave

VX Clubsport - T56 Fluid and Diff Oil

Great thanks! I've read some contain the correct amount from the shelf, however is it best to put the additive in yourself? IE. Buy one that doesn't + GM additive. Is the correct ratio 1.6L oil - 0.1 additive?

VX Clubsport - T56 Fluid and Diff Oil

Hey guys, Looking at recommendations for the T56 and diff in relation to what fluid/oil people use. I see Mainlube come up, but that's out of my price range to be honest - especially as it's only 5L or higher quantities. It seems that Castrol SAF-XA for the diff has been discontinued...

[LS1] Alternator Light + Constant Cooling Fans (After Header Swap)

Hi guys, I've just started the VX up today after having the battery disconnected for nearly a month, and slowly doing a header swap when I could be bothered. Long story short, started fine and had rough idle at first (expected). What I have noticed though is the cooling fans are constantly...

Yeah, that looks good from bits and pieces I've seen, the same guy did Lost also right? I liked Lost back when it aired, one of few apparently lol

TV Shows - That ARE NOT cancelled early

Hi guys, I'm looking for some recommendations on tv shows that haven't been cut early, or already finished. I'm running a little low on shows lately now that some of mine have finished for good. I'll include my shows I've watched below for reference: Dexter Breaking Bad Supernatural...

Difference between AC Delco and GM Denso Plugs?

Did you get one of those service packages off eBay, that contains fuel filter, air filter, plugs and what not? I wouldn't worry too much about plugs, as long as they are gapped correctly.... leads on the other hand, genuine for sure...

ls1 high revs after new throttie body

Sounds like the cable may still have a bit too much tension on it at idle, hence cracking open a tad..? How long did this take you by the way, looks like a fairly easy swap, and I'd be down for some increased throttle response in the future...

Your Job + Mechanical Knowledge - Why is it so shocking to people?

That's a very valid point, I guess one of the underlying factors, subliminally speaking, as to why people are so surprised at 'backyard mechanics'.... if that's what they want to call us... To my surprise, the first time I changed the oil on my Cruze, the sum plug is some wacky 5 point...

How to Replace Oxygen Sensors/O2 Sensors

Just do it yourself, it's pretty much the same level of knowledge required to change your engine oil. As per above though, don't skimp on parts, otherwise you will end up paying twice..

How to Replace Oxygen Sensors/O2 Sensors

Holden Commodore VY V6 Catalytic converters pair with oxygen sensors - 4blok | 4blok There a quick pic for reference, the O2 sensors are pretty easy to get to. Take it out (unsure what size spanner?) and unplug at other end. Repeat in reverse? :beer chug:

Keep the parts, buy same model car? Or hock them off to minimise losses?

Your Job + Mechanical Knowledge - Why is it so shocking to people?

Finding time is actually a good point to bring up... The R8 will be coming off the road for a while for new cats (may as well do headers too w/ high flow cats) and rotor replacement, but this will probably take 2 months - LOL **Also, Yes, Dave. Some idiot when he was a young kid thought this...

Your Job + Mechanical Knowledge - Why is it so shocking to people?

Reminds me of when I'm making small talk with mechanics when I do visit them, and they ask what I do for a job..... I tend not to answer them honestly, because then they start asking about their emails, Facebook, phone or can I build them a website..... sheeetttt not again....

Your Job + Mechanical Knowledge - Why is it so shocking to people?

I understand not everyone has mechanical knowledge (if any) and that's fair enough....but maybe because I'm not doing burnouts in the carpark, I don't know.... You don't have to be a mechanic to change your flux capacitor, but people flip out....

Your Job + Mechanical Knowledge - Why is it so shocking to people?

Hey Guys, Something I thought I would put to you all after yet another conversation at work about cars.... I work in digital marketing, and everyone at work is always so surprised that I have mechanical knowledge greater then 'Errr my car is due for a service, do I need a new flux...

It seems I was conned :-(

Motor industry : Department of Justice and Attorney-General I was only low level s** t kicker back in Admin at Fair Trading, but I've seen some dealers get reamed for breaches, there's some pretty serious penalties this guy could be looking at, and losing his dealer licence.... sounds a lot...

It seems I was conned :-(

Dude, NO! You have no reason to have to pay anything extra to get this done, the car was sold without a RWC, the car is also not passable for a RWC either (oil making its way to floor = fail). If you weren't happy with his offer, just take your money back. I know you may be attached to the...

It seems I was conned :-(

Why has no one else suggested this? It was only in your other thread you were saying you can't stop going to look at her in the shed... At least this way all work would be completed, and inspected.... You might buy another one a 6months later the rear main rears it's ugly head?... I'd...

new to ls1's in need of alittle info

I would get a second dyno done, as I really can't match those figures up with anything where it should be. A 'mild' cam is such a broad term, but you should at least expect anywhere from 260+ ? Have you done a compression test out of pure interest? Is the car running healthy? If your friends...

    [LS1] VX R8 - Bolt In/Flanged High Flow Cats?

Thanks for dropping in! It's a VXII, the more I look around the more I feel I should just fork out and do headers + cats, with the standard hsv cat-back. Will the 4-1 hang low, as I've read pacemaker sit low normally, how does this compare for the hurricanes? Will this bolt up to the Hsv...

    [LS1] VX R8 - Bolt In/Flanged High Flow Cats?

Are the cats included in the genie kit high flow ones? I'm going to assume so, maybe ceramic for the price though? I think I might just do a header + high flow cat package and be done with it. Am I correct in thinking that Not An Abba Fan is the guy to talk to re. Exhausts? Thanks.

    [LS1] VX R8 - Bolt In/Flanged High Flow Cats?

Thanks mate, I have actually been looking at this option - especially as I've been getting quoted $900 for 300 cell cats... Which I think is crazy... HM Headers - Performance headers, extractors, mufflers, exhaust systems, hi flow catalytic converters, complete exhaust or cat back systems -...

    [LS1] VX R8 - Bolt In/Flanged High Flow Cats?

Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone does bolt in cats for the standard HSV exhaust? Preferably 200 cell. I'm not planning on changing the exhaust, car is completely original and standard. I believe the standard HSV cats are 400 cell, 1.8L. Apparently there is a guy or shop on here that...
