Holden dealer in Sydney wanted over $150 to fix my controls (VYII SS) and they aren't even completely broken, just lose the 'down volume' button sometimes. Yeah I'll keep the money thanks. Good news is that yours sounds like a simple fix (wire loose or fuse etc) Just get holden to look at it...

yeah looking for some more in depth knowledge, someone familiar with the 'reset by removing fuse' technique; and the way the car learns and re learns different setups (fuel/air ratio etc). BMC fuse doesn't exist on the VY, I have only found ECC fuse. I will wait for other comments... :)

Go to different dealers until one sorts it out. From experience, having a VY out of warranty sucks. I've had similar probs, so don't feel alone. All sorts of weird lock outs in all gears in the tremec 6spd...

Do they drink? Yes. Be Gentle. Or generous to Shell. I paid $600 for a twin 2 1/2" dual mandrel free flow sports exhaust to VYII SS. So worth it. Makes your holden sound like a real V8. Also I would hope that for an older model it would be cheaper (but maybe not)

VYII SS here, exact same problem. It is the 'actuators' whatever that is. Holden dealer keeps tightening them, come loose every 20 000km. No real fix I guess. Most of the time I just crack the problem window a mm, which can suck if it's raining. Go to Holden, definitely get warranty on it...
