    VY2 SS LS1, 3 bolt cam gear?

Hey guys, I'm wanting to confirm that vy2 ls1s have a 3 bolt cam gear (or not) I don't want to pull the front of my motor apart until I've got my cam so thought I'd ask here. I've tried a couple of searches but come up with nothing

    VS BT1 Injectors

I dont think you will be anywhere near maxing out your injectors, just get a tune done to suit your cam - either a custom one or whatever company did your cam might supply or recommend one. all Fitting higher flowing injectors achieves is getting more fuel into the engine in the given time the...

    Steering wheel shake.....in park!

Have you fitted extractors? Id bet they are fouling on your power steering rack, you might needa hook the right hand one off and put a dent in it for clearance

    IRS Into VN Wagon

I think its a great idea. I think you should do it. You gain nothing, just more tyre wear. And you may end up with a car that will never see the road again. But yeah I reckon you should go hard, it would be great to see it done. In the USA heaps of guys do RHD conversions on their USDM civics...

    welder

You can use just about any welding process you want for that panel as the welds are hidden behind it. Obviously a bare wire MIG process is going to best for it, but if all youve got is stick just use that - provided you know how to use one, that is. You could even just glue the panel on by its...

Headers and variable ratio steering racks

Not completely relevant, since it was on a v6, when I fitted a v6/manual with extractors into my old VP V8 calais with variable steering, I just marked the drivers side header with a twink pen and put a dent in the header for steering rack clearance. Worked sweet.

    V8 to V6 steering racks

The vq may have variable speed power steering. If it does, it will still fit but you wont be able to run extractors without bashing a dent in one of them for clearance. Variable speed steering wont work if you dont have the the wiring for it, but should still operate as normal power steering...

    Exhaust restrictor best option??

Dont do it. Just dont do it. If you are driving your car around thinking "well, this goes pretty hard, but I think it would go better if I reduced my exhaust diameter by ~6mm" then you are either: A). A genuis capable of modelling flow and helmholtz resonance entirely in his head, in which...

    ** WHAT THE PIC !!! ** VauxhallOpel Senator Cambridge 1988 ??

These came out with the dual ram 2.6l straight 6. You could remove/fit a fuse in the engine bay to switch between maps for 91 and 95 octane.

    snapped wheel assembly stud.

Yeah If your wheel has been wobbling around with only one or two nuts tight your studs are probably stuffed
  19. Andrew426

    question about boot struts

You should be able to get your struts re kitted and re gassed, you could even get your boot lid ones gassed at a higher pressure (id guess a 300N strut would be more than enough) In NZ we go thru a company called Stabilus, they manufacture and repair gas struts. I cant remember the names of any...

    snapped wheel assembly stud.

Yeah thats why you need to check the other studs, they could be bent slightly, the threads damaged, they could have hairline cracks in them or the surface where the nuts seat in the wheel could be damaged. I would have a very good look at these, if not replace the whole lot. Obviously though If...

So again, why does your breother have to pay for the whole set of tires? If the rest of the set are only two months old, there is nothing wrong with matching them to a new one. And what country are you in?

    safe Ignition circuit VR exec

Yes a dc to dc step up converter is a far better option, I have one and it works well. Changing 14v into 19v is far easier than changing 14v into 230v then into 19v. Just be a bit wary of selecting the right voltage on the step up converter, my girlfriend started using a cheap chinese laptop...

You could get your signal off the purple (i think) wire off your oil pressure switch, its the one that keeps the fuel pump powered up. Or you could even switch it off the fuel pump wiring.

Manual conversion in a 6 seater

Yep, pretty much the same as doing it on a 5 seater, youll just needa cut down and trim your center console and get a normal steering column shroud if you want it all to look tidy. youll needa cut a hole in the trans tunnel for the shifter to come thru, though id be willing to bet the hole is...

Is there a way to remove rear springs without a spring compressor?

And clearly, half the members of this forum are out looking for a fight. There are much better ways to suggest somebody go out and buy some stands than the "You are a child and shouldnt be allowed to work on cars, drive, or be on the internet for asking a question so stupid." The negative...

Sorry, Didnt realize girls cant be mates in aussie. This is getting stupid. I was just pointing out that forum members were overly harsh on the guy when all he did was ask for suggestions on how to remove his springs and pointing out that he didnt have certain tools. Now, as usual, the forum...

Is there a way to remove rear springs without a spring compressor?

If you dont have any stands mate, big bits of wood will do (like lengths of 12"x12"). OP, Its best not to even hint about doing anything dodgey (or out of the norm) on this website, because unless your a forum sponsor, youll get flamed by a hundred internet mechanics telling you your a child...
