Electricity requires a complete circuit; are you measuring the circuit only up to the light socket but not from the light socket back to the supply? It might be the return path (earth/negative) that's causing your problem.

It will do it once per driving event from cold, then only again after it's been sitting for a few hours. i.e. if it's driven after a shorter rest it won't clunk.

Follow up: It seems to be happening at the change from 1st to 2nd, but it's not like it's 'clunking' into gear; the gear change itself seems OK, is there something else that happens at the same time (inside the transmission?) that this could be? P.S. the noise is happening more often now.

The blinkers are electronically controlled now days... no mechanical noises any more, so they play a sound through the speakers instead. There is a setting in my-link, but it will probably be on the low setting already.

If it's a 2014 it's probably not new, do you mean you just bought a second hand 2014 VF Commodore? Either way, they are factory fitted, not dealer fitted. There are no 'fake' aftermarket my-link systems, but there are aftermarket alternatives that are worth considering.
