All I have finally finished the engine and she is running. Trickflow 215 heads 273@050, 585 lift cam exhaust headers etc I have purchased some new Siemens 660cc injectors but I am concerned about the fuel pump. Been reading threads on here and think this is what is suggested...

    Siemens 660cc injectors for LS1

Hi All I have to upgrade my fuel system on my LS1 as the current injectors are not up to the job. Looking at these: https://www.aftermarketindustries.com.au/siemens-668cc-injectors From what I read they are 12 ohm which I believe the stock injectors are also. Has anybody got experience with...

    Upgrading Injectors on LS1

All I have finished rebuilding the LS1. It now has a 273 @ 585 cam Trickflow 215/64cc cathedral heads difillipo headers etc However, we estimate that this could be a 550hp package. This brings me to the injectors. Right now the car has the stock injectors and stock fuel pump. It is a VT II...

    LS1 C4B rebuild

After the Carillo forged pistons and Lunati rods were joined and balanced, they were inserted into the block and the bottom end is assembled with the polished and balanced crank. I also chose to use a stud kit rather than bolts for the bottom end and the crank end float was checked the...

    LS1 C4B rebuild

Some more progress Firstly we cleaned the threads out of the block New Camtech cam After chemically cleaning the block, the oil galleries were tapped and plugged with grub screws instead of the plastic thingies normally used. The whole bottom end, was also balanced. The Lunati rods...

    LS1 C4B rebuild

Yeah it is the original motor out of the car. I dont care about monster performance, just bullet proof and a better cam is all good. It will still give me about 450hp so it will still be fun.

    LS1 C4B rebuild

Some more progress today. The engine guy uses a machined plate for the LS to make sure the block maintains stability while it is being machined. Boring the block Carillo Forged Piston . . . ARP head stud kit

    LS1 C4B rebuild

I appreciate what you have said, but the C4B LS1 isn't a bad engine, its just that holden used the wrong cam with the wrong valve springs. I am avoiding that altogether.

    LS1 C4B rebuild

The first of the bits have turned up. Carillo forged pistons, Lunati rods, Mellings Oil pump with some other bits. The result will be a solid engine that I can drive how I like without worrying. We measured the bores and they are within 2 thou of each other, so the block is being bored to 5...

    LS1 C4B rebuild

All So, recently I purchased a VTII GTS. Great car that went really well. Handles great and stops brilliantly. However, when I started it I was getting a puff of smoke that we identified as unburnt fuel. So I decided to check the injectors. Sent them to be cleaned and turns out that one is not...

Clutch choice: NCP Viper or Textralia Z grip

All After looking around, I have pretty much shortlisted these two clutches, the NCP Viper or the Textralia Z grip. They are virtually the same money and come with the same items, flywheel, clutch, pressure plate. I will have between 400-450hp at the flywheel once the engine is rebuilt. So...

    C4B freshen

All Freshening up a C4B from previous owners. I may have a problem where the cam was changed and they used the incorrect length pushrod. The reason I suspect this is all the pushrods are worn where they go through the head to the roller rocker. Assuming the worst, if I was to replace the roller...

Fitting a fuel pressure gauge to an LS1 (VTII)

It remains relatively constant, however, I think one or more injectors are actually leaking. If I leave teh car sit, I get unburnt fuel out of the exhaust on startup. I have pulled the injectors and they are getting cleaned and checked before I do much else. I also found that the seals on the...

Fitting a fuel pressure gauge to an LS1 (VTII)

All, I ended up fitting an AF146-02 as you suggested and I am getting 46-48psi fuel pressure. From what I read, that is a little low. Should I be looking at the fuel pump? thanks

    Keeping my battery charged

All I went to drive the GTS today, but unfortunately, the battery had gone just a little too flat to start. As I dont drive it very much, can somebody recommend a solar charger that would maintain the battery voltage. I have looked at CTEK and they seem to have a great reputation but to be...

Vx commodre engine shaking at idle and knocking

My VT V6 did something similar. Turns out that I had a broken valve spring, it was hard to tell because the first turn and a half broke and just sat there. the engine still ran but just ran rough. Maybe pull the rocker covers and check the springs.

    Varajet Out! Weber In!

The 32/36 was a very general carb. They used them on 2l escorts all the way through to the 4.1l falcon. Just as a side note, DGV was manual choke and the DGAV was auto choke. I never liked the auto choke, so I always made sure the choke was manual. the Auto choke used water flow.

    Oil cooler for LS1

Point taken. I recently did a track day (with more to come), and the car did start to get hot by the end of the session. That is the reason for looking at this. Varajet Out! Weber In!

I like webers better than holleys for the simple fact the secondarys are mechanical. A holley opens both throats at once, but a weber opens the secondarys mechanically (the right foot :) ). I used a 32/36 DGV off a falcon 4.1 and took it for a tune at a weber specialist. It ran GREAT!! I found...

    VT Clubsport LS1 no power/surging

Does it have the original temp sensors. A mate had the same issue with his 220i. He bought a brand new aftermarket sensor and it did something similar to this. He went and bought a genuine holden temp sensor and the problem went away.

    VT Gen III Fuel pump

All I am about to do a little upgrading on my 300kw VT gen III. In preparation for that, I believe the pump is fading and I am considering replacing it (after all it is 16 years old). Help rebuilding a Gen III C4B

All The original motor is feeling a little tired, so I have decided that I am going to rebuild the motor. Fitting a fuel pressure gauge to an LS1 (VTII)

fuel problem on my vt acclaim

How many Kms has the car done? It could be many things. for example, a neighbour was going through a tank every 200km, in the end turns out the cat had collapsed inside, and was restricting it so badly that it was consuming volumes of fuel.

Just bought an Evoke Sportwagon and I'm a bit lost!

While Holden dont do one, you could always make your own rear door release. Remember also that it only opens when the car is turned off. It is an electric solenoid operated tailgate lock. Simple pop a switch into the system that you can mount up the front.
