Active select in V.E. is no longer the stupid floppy paddle and is in the gear shift where it should be. It sounds like you have major problems in your auto and sounds expensive, Good luck with it.

What happens when you drive the car in active select ? As impulsesv6 said 4th is not over drive 5th gear is.

I have a 2005 sv6. Last Sunday coming home down the Hume freeway,I stopped to have a smoke. After pulling out from the service bay went to set the cruise control and got a warning come up on dash that said "apply brake before setting cruise control". It is not the first time that this has happened.

You must use brakes once before you can turn cruise control on. If you pull out from a servo onto a freeway you can't set it until you apply brakes first.

Make sure that your fuel cap is on tight, turn it two or three times while pushing it in. Don't just turn it till it clicks twice.

Depends on the model of and transmission. SV6 auto has lit up buttons because of auto shifter paddles on steering wheel.

Had the same thing with mine, got the diff reconditioned fixed it, no dramas in 18 months.

Same goes for me in my sv6, do the cap up and make sure it clicks three or four times at least or you will still get the smell of fuel.

Looks good, peel the srs stickers off the B pillars. Did it to mine looks heaps better without it with tinted windows.
