    Overspray On Dashpad (VY)

    Mainly because pressure packs are enamel and melt with the slightest touch of thinners. If it were 2 pack you would have no chance haha. Any overspray on the window? At least thats the easiest thing to clean

    Just try a small spot with a damp wrag of thinners and see what happens. I can near gaurentee you'll be safe. Just don't use on plastics i.e cluster etc

    Motor had 27,000km on it. Unfortunately just bad luck having it snowball like that. I've got another block, pistons and waiting on rods which are still 2 weeks away then it's all go. I really don't know who to get it tuned by here in vic, i'm thinking autotechnique, saas automotive or all sparks

    Not alot to report on, The vx now has working calais courtesy lights & calais sun visors, hsv gto steering wheel controls & a 245/35/19 placard in an attempt to keep the po po off my back if i ever get pulled over. She should recieve in a few weeks: vz ss pedals & footrest, Shortened manual...

    Cheers for that mate, i'll have to look into it. Driving me nuts haha. The 6 speed is great on a highway. It has 3.45's in it now [factory] and sits on 1500rpm @100km/h. From what i've witnessed it should sit on 2000rpm there abouts at 100km/h with the 4.11's. Don't worry i'll be buying genuine...

    Don't worry i'm looking into diff gears, i may as well utilise the manual and go 4.11's but im wondering wether or not to go true track and i've heard they have a bit of play in them?

    Who did your exhaust? I fitted the new x-force exhaust back in Janurary and after a 4 hour trip it just drones like hell. It's driving me nuts! lol.

    I've been recommended to run tri y's into a 2.5inch for my setup. If i were to stroke it'd i'd have to get 4-1's.

    Thanks for the feed back on the cam, it sound and drives great. Drives like a near stock car down low and just pulls over 4000. As for the whole 'retune because you havn't got a good dyno figure' it really depends what tuner you go to wether it be mpw, casey automotive, pro flow, chevs...

    use 2k, the job will look alot better and last alot longer. make sure you remember to wear a dusk mask with charcoal filter.

    full respray vt

    most panel shops charge around $300 a panel. they may charge more for spot repairs, priming and booth time. make sure they use a quality product like ppg, debeers or spies hecker.

    Needs some advice on touching up acrylic

    you can buy 'scotch brite' from most auto paint places like preston motors or the body shop. use it wet as it will take all the dirt and grime off too. prepsol [wax and grease remover] the whole skirt, haze the colour over the rub thrus and when its covered clear it with 2-3 coats of clear.

    best gun you could possibly buy on the market at the moment is the SATA Jet 4000 rp. sprays basecoat at 1.6-1.8 bar and clearcoat at 1.8-2.0 bar. i have one and wouldnt ever use anything else. the iwata w400 you should be able to pick up reasonably cheap. it's usually a 1.4 mm setup and it...

    Now with Genuine VX GTS 19 Inch Rims and a full ss bodykit. I will be doing an ls1 on it at some point this year by vt2plz with a 6 speed manual gearbox, full pacemaker exhaust system, maffless tune, alloy otr with bmc air filter, ss black interior with cluster.

    Holden use ppg deltron. Make sure you scuff them with bodykleen by ppg and some scotchbrite, plastic prime them and paint. if you are worried about it flaking use a felxible additive.
