I put a berlina triple cluster into mine too, that was over 2 years ago, my airbag light has been on ever since but I still get top gear. I thought that all it needed was a Tech2 reconfiguration done.

I think you may have been measuring an ecotec engine as the VR motors don't have a "plenum box", also the dimensions are the same as the ecotecs I have on the floor.

Hey Dunstan, I just couldn't be bothered going out to the shed, then finding a measuring tape, then using it, gee it would have been all a bit too much, lol. But the ecotecs are a little taller than the earlier girls, cause of their revised intake plenum, maybe up to a 100mm difference...

It is normal for it to change into 2nd while in 1st if revs get high enough to try and protect the drivetrain a little, but the 2nd to 3rd shift while stuck in second is a little sus, from factory they do hit the limiter in second without shifting to 3rd hmmm.
