Hey all, (first post in a while :() Well just recently i noticed a squeaking noise coming from the engine bay (who would have thought!!) ...i automatically assumed a slipping fanbelt however this isnt the case....i listened and tried to play it by ear but i couldnt place which pulley it was...

If you are REALLY that eager to have some kind of Aspirated/Forced induction sound coming from your engine, get a gilmer drive. All it is is a ribbed fan belt that makes a whirring sound (more like a supercharger than a turbo) and it really does sound nice.

You will find them at any wreckers or self serve spare parts places. Generally they are free aswell unless you get chrome ones etc. They will also stop your window rattling if thats what the problem is. Cheers.

Same problem with my VR ute. I reckon hako is on the money because i had my shocks and struts replaced only about 6 months ago and the problem still occurs. I will try what he suggested and post the results!

Sorry all this will sound Noobish Was the VZ HSV R8 Clubsport released with a LS1 or an LS2 engine? Correct me if i am wrong but the HSV VZ's started production in 06 which was the LS2 (05-07) era? Cheers?

Because of the way the middle seat is installed. Would be hard to remove. And a standard centre console from a commodore wont around the middle part where the gearstick is...?

Nah dude they will only fit a 6 cyli VR. Im pretty sure they are made to match the clearance each model needs to fit them. So unless the setting out of the engine, gearbox, Tailshaft, diff, etc is the exact same in a VS as a VR then no they wont fit.

Update: All fixed guys, i pulled the cover unit off, the stalk was clipped in properly but the little plastic bit that flicks in and out was worn down by the Can in the steering column that catches it. I just pulled the blinker stalk up and down pretty hard a few times to get it to come out...

Definetly sounds like a flooding issue. The car will roll the revs on slowly but when you gun it it cant burn the fuel and therefore no drive power?

Nah dude i dont think you can because then you cant set the desired range for shifting... Only way to have one i would say is to buy an external tacho?

Thanks boys. I reckon ur right green coz the bodgey ****er i bought it off put a custom steering wheel and cover unit on so i reckon he didnt clip the stalk back in properly when he finished. P.S: Was just about to go and try it and it started ****ing down rain...have to wait till 2moro. :bang:

Check your fuel filter for a clog or something, or something wrong with the rails?
