    Temperature gauge not working??

    I did the same with my VK and the temp gauge worked fine. My temp gauge did screw up once and was the power transistor (voltage regulator) moumted on the printed circuit board went faulty.

    Just take the Black wire off the negative side of the coil and the EST is disconnected. Remove the est dizzy drop in the HEI one wire it up to the coil and your away. Only thing I dont really remember is if there is an ignition power source, but if not just add it to +ve side of coil

    I dont see how a wire can be too big? A wire can be too small, or do you mean your connectors are too big and a loose fit. That would most definatly be a possible cause of an open circuit that would sometimes work and sometimes not.

    And make sure you give it a 12 volt feed. It will not run as good if you use the Resistance wire. Use the original ignition coil wire to trigger a relay to supply full 12 volts to coil.

    VB Fuel tank issue

    It really sounds like your breather hose that hooks up to the top of your tank is not breathing. I read you checked your hoses but they are the classic symptoms. It is not going to be easy but try disconnect it from just behind the filler cap and suck/blow some air see if it is really working.
