VH SLE Shadow tone lines. Either blue, red or green. We'll say red for this.
The silver line-
From the drivers door where it meets the front fender, going back towards the boot and around the back to the passengers front door where it meets the fender should be 9mm
The red line-
From the...
Great work Daniel. Mind throwing up a pic or two? 290mm as in VLT/VL V8/VN-VS rotors? Would be very interested as I want to keep VK Calais rims as a choice and the single pots locked up easily on an emergency brake yesterday when a car tried pulling into my lane on top of me. Cheers.
It is more about how rare a 5L SL/E is over the lower levels. The coupe was nothing special, nice colour and wheels, 308/T400. They are still worth what it last sold for, I learnt that when trying to buy a replacement lol. A 202 Kingswood or Torana sedan in average nick is over 10g now. That is...
Regarding values on VH SLE's, a few clean original 5L examples have swapped hands recently for 20k or above. I saw the VB SLE 5L 4speed that sold for similar money, and it needs another 10g spent before it even looks nice, let alone pristine. I learnt the hard way on values with a HQ coupe which...
Do what you like with it as it is your car and you have to enjoy it ;) In saying that, a mate went overboard as a late teen with deep pockets when his dad said he could only have a 253. 8 new sleeves and a stroker crank later, it was at 360ci. A 355 will sell for as much as a 381 pack with a...
Hotrod guys have been buying up the early manual racks with the 440mm intermediate shafts for ages as well causing a shortage. Everything is thin on the ground these days.
Motherf$#@%r's lol. Through work, we cant get V8's via Maxxia. XR6T=yeah, anything with 6 or below cylinders and forced induction is fine including an R35 GTR, but no V8's.
The section for the window switch on a VK console pushes out easily as the outline is fairly thin, but should not be visible on a vinyl wrapped console as per VH.
You need to hold onto it for a little more than 10yrs, and there will be no taxi spec Holden with more power to follow as per recent builds in the last 20 years. Better ways to invest your money, even if a CUB.
What a pain. I had a BA factory gas and always had to deal with wax in the convertor. Was eating into the savings I made, but not enough to be upset about. The fuel sender replacement and tank stamp didn't help either. Have a VK LS1 and was planning on doing the liquid setup soon, but not after...
6 or V8? If 6, it will bolt straight up, make sure you use spigot bearing. The floor pan and crossmember are the same VC & VK. Pedal bolt also bolts straight up. Wiring will need a small change. If V8, it will bolt up if a Brock box, M21 or T5G, and the VC has a trimatic.
The switches are prone to failure due to age and design, some people upgrade the switches, there was a guy reconditioning them as well on one of the forums. The wiring is usually ok, just the regulator motors and switches go. Another upgrade it to retrofit the VN-VS wiring. The advantage in this...
Just to confirm, are there log books to back the kms as there are thousands of VB-VH's with odometers that stopped working with next to no km's. Anywhere from 50,000km to 180,000km. It is an easy fix.
Aren't they just a banjo centre in a new housing? CIG locker was the only way to go with them lol. If you need anything worth spooling, bin it and go a 10 bolt with the uni that covers small tailshaft to big yoke. Did it in a VC wagon.
When I viewed it when originally for sale for $18,000 in early 2014, the paint was in need of attention due to chips all over the rear, and a bit of rust here and there. The boot rubber was siliconed down below the rear window as much of the supporting rail was missing. Trim was in good...
Phone numbers on his last ad were 0449268653/0297881216/0420941115. It sounds like it is a different car as to when he owned it body wise. He did have the engine specs somewhere.
About $300 is the going rate for a turbo pattern conversion. It should be, as it is an easy job. Forget the place doing it up here, but all it takes is moving the dowels and some secondary bolt holes. Will pm you if I come across the machine shop.
Popping up everywhere Paolo lol. I like the idea on front bumper in regards to keeping the number plate straight. Those rear tyres seem to be getting lower in tread ;)
$100 is good for something to scrap. I just sold the bottom pulley off the harmonic balancer and steering column for more than that on a VH wreck. There are plenty of desirable parts on a V8 Commodore. Parts worth over $100
