i doubt you would gain 15kw... 5kw sounds about right.. i havent seen these for the ecotec but it would definately be a good modification to do if you can find a place that makes them.. especially if you drive at high rpm all the time it will save your alternator and power steering pump etc...

Cams 5kw?... changing the camshaft will give you the most gain out of any modification on your NA ecotec... i have a small cam, ported heads, extractors and high flow cat with 2.5" catback, 70mm throttle body, 25mm mace manifold spacer, and mafless tune.. it makes 215hp at the wheels... it...

A normal valve grind is ony ground at one angle, and a 3 angle is ground at a a 30 degree, 45 degree (the sealing surface) and 60 degree angle (i think those are the correct angles). so it makes the valve seat more rounded and aerodynamic. it increases the flow of the port quite alot at low...

honestly mate just drive it normal without "shifting" gears.... theres nothing worse than seeing some tool driving an auto like manual lol

if i was you id keep my eye out for a L67 and put the T5 behind that xD otherwise just get an ecotec... its only a few hundred bucks and you can just put it straight in without worrying about all the wiring...

look around the forum man, you will find everything you want to know... take the leaf blower out of your intake piping.. its probably making LESS power with it! if you wanna make some good power i suggest you spend hours reading threads on this forum as there is alot to learn.

i have been reading up on chassis stiffening and seam welding lately and was wondering if anyone else has done this to their VS or any other commodore for that matter.. i assume it would make quite a bit of difference as whenever i go over speed humps or up a driveway i get squeeks and rattles...

i thought the same thing when i chose my cam as it was my first time changing a cam and i wasnt sure what to expect with how it would drive on the street and stuff.. now i wish i got a slightly bigger one lol although that was in a ecotec V6 not V8 :]

well seems like no one likes traction control and i guess if its gonna stop you from accelerating out of a slide then it wouldnt really help at all.. so maybe i'll just forget about traction control lol

it does lose traction without meaning to in the wet more so when taking off from lights nd stuff it'll kick out a bit.. not that this is going to cause loss of control or anything just a bit annoying... ive actually been thinking about doing a full engine rebuild and doing some work to increase...

i have the same noise in my vr as well man.. i did a full gearbox rebuild and replaced the clutch and thrust bearing and its a bit quiter but definately still noticeable so i came to the conclusion that its just a noisy gearbox lol.. if its hard to get into gear though then the synchros are...

this is beacause the cirumference of the larger wheel will be bigger which means that with one turn of the wheel the car moves further than it would with the standard wheels... for example say the circumference of your standard wheels was 1 metre and the circumference of the bigger wheels is 1.1...

i think 4.11 is overkill... you will be reving to 3000 rpm at 100km/h.. i have 3.7 in my v6 and it feels alot better.. i recommend 3.7's also i wouldnt get a mini spool on a street car.. in the wet it will be practically undrivable.. not to mention the tyres you'll go through... good tight lsd...

i'd say including the money and time and stuffing around it would be cheaper to sell your vr and buy a vz.. but if you really wanted to i'd say it wouldnt be too hard.. would involve making up your own cross member to mount the engine and gearbox and would have to modify the tail shaft.. install...

yes the rocker covers are exactly the same for the buick and ecotec.. only the vn series 1 is slightly different i think

does your car have IRS?.. if it does then yes i would definately get a camber kit when lowering it... the camber is bad enough at stock height.. otherwise you'll end up having to get new tyres much more frequently than you should. my car is lowered about 2.5" at the front and 4" at the rear...

hi guys, what would be the leanest afr that would be safe to run on light throttle to get maximum fuel economy? What should the afr be under heavy load? ive been trying to keep it around 13:1... and what load range should it start to go down to 13 (or whatever optimum afr is)? Thanks

i recommend just getting a straight through rear muffler as to me this sounds best.. two hot dogs would also sound good but a bit louder and not as deep... if you get pulled over cops can easily see the rear muffler and will just assume you have a front muffler if you have a rear one... lol...

yea the manual engine has the cam angle sensor too... it just isnt plugged into anything.. you'll need to put a spigot bush in the crankshaft for the input shaft of the gearbox to sit in.. the auto engine wont have that in there.. and the bracket on the bottom of the engine that the gearbox...

you will need to drill a hole and weld a bung onto it... the sump is way too thin to tap a thread into. if you cant weld maybe take the sump off and get a bung and even just take it to an exhaust shop... im sure they would weld it on for you.. would only take them 2 minutes.

lol im not saying you shouldnt get two hotdogs... just telling you it wont be legal... in my opinion it'll sound nice with 2 hotdogs.. it might drone slightly though... my exhaust set up is hurricane headers, standard cat and 2.5" catback with straight through rear muffler only.. sounds better...

i'm not sure if a hotdog is really classified as a muffler as it doesnt do much muffling lol.. the reason why it'll be illegal is because with one or two hotdogs its still gonna be louder than the legal limit.. i dont know what the legal limit is but i know that it's gonna be louder than it...
