I believe that by putting a carburetor on an injected car that it is in breach of the emissions and therefor illegal. Your local Road Authority should be able to confirm.

I would think a CAI, extractors / exhaust, high ratio roller rockers and a memcal to suit would be close to it. I'd prob change the diff gears to 3.7's or the like if you really want to get in front though...

Stock VX SS wheels are 17's by the way... 18's came on the VY...

I don't recall saying simple, however it's hard to argue that a supercharger is not a bolt on mod...same with extractors/exhaust, or even roller rockers. None of these mods require removal of the heads or bottom end work, yet they will provide good results especially when coupled together...

The problem I have with the comment is the term "bolt on's" is too general in meaning... A Supercharger or turbo is a "bolt on" and I'm pretty confident that they will give a decent power gain.. I was interested in this thread and it's results because of the possibility of better fuel economy...

To be honest NO, because Holden are renowned for restricting the power from their motors. Look at the LS1, Holden choked it as standard, yet a simple tune can unlock a lot of power that is hiding within!

I like the idea of better fuel economy as my VT is my daily and I'm looking for comfort and fuel economy over power gains(although any power gain obtained is always welcome!).

I'm interested to know. I have also read that there are supposed to be fuel consumption benefits with this aswell? No offense to the guys from Mace, but at the end of the day, you are selling a product, so I would like to hear from people that have actually bought and fitted it to their cars...

Meh, I only ever run E10 in my VT. Have done for at least 40,000k's and no problems. I still manage to get 450-550k's around town dependent on my driving style. A long freeway trip will see me getting about 700k's + to a tank.

I can understand people being suss on the fuel consumption. I struggle to believe it myself. 98 octane will give you better economy and so will freeway driving but I am highly skeptical that you would top any more than about 800k's to a tank. The new SIDI motors only just crack a thousand k's...

Personally I like the VT Garnish. With the series 2 taillights it looks sleeker an more uniformed. The VX garnish looks terrible with the stock VT rear bar and those horrible cheap Altezza taillights...spew... Even worse is the painted VT rear garnish with original reverse lights left...
