sorry to thread dig, but didn't want to start a new thread as it's a mortal sin on this forum
My dif has just been rebuilt, LSD thrown to the wayside and an Eaton Tru trac put in in it's place, new driveshafts have been installed aswell and doughnuts and centre bearing inspected,, yet I am...
surprisingly i'm still yet to see this thing mate, even being a member of proutes (slack on my behalf but work takes priority) and also here
you going to have it out at the drags?
water pumps are easy to change mate, I did mine without even removing the rad,, all up (including smoko and a few fridge stops) took just over an hour
electric water pumps aren't really worth it, the price outlay for the measly few horsepower in return is a joke actually,
the eaton will hold up just as long as the Harrop will mate, I've already given mine a hiding and all I've managed to do is explode my cv's in the driveshafts,,,,, lol ;)
granted it may not look that impressive mate, but you have to remember you are now sending that power to both ends of the car not just the rears
got to remember most standard AWD performance cars only have around the 220kws at the fly and around 300-400nm of torque,, decent exhaust and a tune...
pretty sure it's eaton mate, but they both use the same worm drive technology and frankily anything HARROP branded is way over priced for what it is,, but in saying that I just paid my diff guy to do the job,, one of 3 things I don't play with,, Diff's, Transmissions and tuning
looks like...

Jester,, Have I mentioned that I hate you??..... lol, I keep looking at these thinking they look so much more classy than the slightly more aggressive clubby ones
:/ uggghhh my bank account can't handle all the things I want to do to my car,,,, well not yet anyway
You wont regret getting the...
loven the senator mate, looks awesome,
how would you rate the fast manifold as far as bang for buck mod? i'm thinking I may need to do heads and full exhaust, (although that will have to wait as other life plans are starting to take over) but have heard mixed stories on the fast manifolds...
r8 rims look the goods man,
and yeah my side skirt badges have had the chrome ??? paint? peeling off for a while, but they haven't actually just fallen off like that,,
but i'm not gonna worry about them though until I get the body cleaned up and repainted, then it'll get all brand new badges :)
well it's now sitting with a busted driveshaft and a dodgey one that'll let go soon enough on the other side. lol
time to look into upgrades for them that wont stop them from still being the built in "fuse"
id personally agree with jester on this,, my 20's are dissolving way to quick for my liking and that's only 280 at the rears, and 3.9's, personally i'd recommend a stout pair of 19's, like FR's :P can't wait to get a gold set for the clubby
considering the tolerances that Tremec would have (not on the scale of Ferrari, Audi and the likes) you are guaranteed that no box will ever be the same mate,
mine felt better during cold shifts, but as soon as it heated up the shifts became woeful
I've just used sprint auto dex 3, any would work they are allthe same properties mate
yeah loving the cam, clutch ripshifter and diff rebuild, has changed the attitude of the car so much, :)
ok so cam is in and tune has been done, it turned the rollers to the tune of 280rwkw and 675nm of torque
not bad considering it is literally just a cam and tune, with 3.9 diff gears and a cast iron manifold standard cats and standard flow pipes to bring the numbers down from what they should be
hey mate, I've just flushed the progear out of my gearbox (70w-75) because cold it was making the shifts extremely clunky, might have just been my box but I've gone back to dex 3 and its smoothed out completely, shifts better when cold and hot, the progear wasn't in there for more than 1000k and...
ok slight update, clutch is in nd it drives so well, cam goes in in two days, but now have the problem of a torn engine mount,,
question is how hard are these to replace in my garage on ramps and jack stands?
now for the cam upgrade next weekend and tune/otr on Monday and i'm done for mods until after we have paid off debt and finally got our own house and a decent size garage I can house all my cars in :D
well the new clutch and lightened flywheel are in,, and what a difference,, feels so much better and doesn't stink everytime the clutch is used :))
also replaced the rear main seal and cover gasket while we had everything out as there was a very slight leak
well the ripshifter is in and all I can say is,,,, Why did I wait 2 years of owning the car to do this mod... to say im in love with it is a complete understatement, the speed and precision of the shifts is unbelievable,, can't wait to get the new clutch in tomorrow and then the cam in the...
just sourced my valve springs and pushrods,
Lunati valve dual valve spring full kit (dual springs, retainers, locks spring seals and valve seals)
and
Trend 1 piece Pushrods, 7.400 long .080 wall 5/16 size
should compliment the
crow cam 232 234 113LSA cam nicely ;P
and also add to the fun...
wooot,
clutch goes in on the weekend, as well as a ripshifter (should be here tomorrow or Wednesday)
then the cam goes in next weekend aswell as new double valve springs and 7.4 pushrods that are yet to be sourced
I've got HID's in the clubby now mate,, they are amazing compared to standard, and they were these ones
H11 5000K HID Philips PL KIT Maloo Monaro VY VZ HSV | eBay
only in a 6000k, also got some white t10 wedge led lights for the parkers (ugghhh taking the front bar off just to replace them was a...
yayy for more money being swallowed by the never ending chasm that is my clubby,,,,, :/
clutch is just about dead and needs replacing,, and while it and the box are south of where they should be I've decided a gmm ripshifter will be a top add on to help with the issue holden had with snatching...
well it goes in tomorrow to get the speedo re calibrated to suit the 3.9's.
next performance mod will require the engine to come out so it's safe to say it wont happen for a little while ;)
however the next "overall mod" has already been done, my low beam hid kit arrived today and got fitted...
ok so in 6th at what should be 110,,, the clubby actually reads 124,,,, :/
definitely needs doing I think,,, but on a lighter note,, damn it pulls hard in 2nd for an otherwise standard car :))
