hey bcw61, just a quick question, on lpg do the fuel consumption/ distance to empty etc readings still work on the dash readout on the vz ( i have a 3 cluster dash in the lumina wagon)or do they become reduntant like my VT calais on lpg (mixer setup)

what kind of consumption are you guys getting on injected gas in litres per 100km..am thinking of going injected and would like to know the figures before i do..is it more than petrol?

had the exact same problem and was driving me nuts after a while..yeah it sounds like a supercharger..mechanic said it was the power steering pump, changed that..problem was still there..found out it was the idler pulley..the one right down the bottom next to the crank i changed the bearings...

my + button is loose and is held together using electrical tape, but was wondering how i would undo the same button from the car at the wreckers..can i pop them off with a flat blade screw driver or do i have to undo the air bag etc?? can someone tell me a nice and easy way of doing it? also...

yeah i was thinking of car city..but hey if you can get them to do an injected gas setup, you will be thankfull as it would be real cheap to run, compared to running it on petrol..ive heard they are guzzlers being heavy and 4wd

no i dont think so..with the vz, the lpg HAS to be injection..dont settle for anything else..if anything, get it confirmed in writing..i would hate to think what a modern v8 would drive like on a venturi mixer setup..youre not in western sydney by any chance? as i know a dealership who promises...

285K..wow so far we have a winner!! when you say the gearbox was getting clunky, do you mean it was a manual? what other items did you need to service? timing chains, o2 sensors, thermostat etc etc?

just make sure that the lpg conversion is a "vapor sequentual setup" and not a cheap n nasty venturi old skool mixer setup..the latter is infact illegal as it doesnt comply with emissions

so how would this error be corrected..i cant see why it would be an error if the fuel isnt on the gauge..it should just say low fuel warning

Hi guys, am seriously looking at buying a vz wagon with aftermarket ELKO injected lpg system..have taken it for a drive and feels ok..the only problem (if you can call it that) was when i brought it back to the owers house on a steep driveway, it came up with a "fuel gauge error" or something...

any known problems with this setup?

thats the exact same problem that i have at times..i have done coil packs etc (see my thread below on DFI module) i honestly think that it must be the DFI module in both our situations.. thats one thing left that i havent tried yet.. my car is duel fuel and running on gas at the moment, but...

hey guys, i have a VT calais and lately it seems to be missing intermittently and also its hard to start..have changed leads and plugs and even tried swapping new coil packs..but still same problem.. do you reckon it could be the DFI module? i wouldnt mind picking one up and throwing it...

mate ive looked high n low for this efi relay..cant find it..ive looked in the engine bay, ive looked under the steering, like youve suggested..still cant find the bloddy thing..its a VT calais if that helps..any idea where it could be?

prav..the a/c relay is the same as the fuel pump relay (both in engine bay)..where would the EFI one be??

prav, your advice has been great so far..i have access to a multi meter..can you please tell me what i need to do to check the PCM and what i should be looking for? is there anyway of checking the EFI relay with a multi meter also?? i dont know anyone with a commodore to swap the relay with...

hey guys, just returned back home after 4 weeks..took the VT down to the shops and back and when i got home i noticed smoke coming from the engine bay. did the bonnet up and found the bloddy alternator on fire :cry: have no idea why tho...it is the alternator at the top front of the motor...

hi guys, recently bought the wife a VT calais..nice car and all BUT one thing ive noticed with the climate control is that when youve got the A/C on and you have the setting for the air to come out directed at the face..it will blow onto the front windscreen, and then after sometime then blow...

i cant see a sensor per se..if its what i think it is..its the middle of the dash in a rectangular shape..but it looks far from being a sensor..just looks like the middle of the dash..i took the dash matt off and the sensor worked..can anyone point me in where exactly this sensor is before i go...

:bang: that explains it then..i recently bought a bloddy dash mat and its probably covered the sensor..so the sensor thinks its dark all the time.. thanks for all your help..you would have thought that the mat would have had some kind penetration like the ones for the vents on it..
