I would be worried about light from man made sources making your sensors think its daytime, like someone flashes high beams at you and your driving lights flash them back.

Ill be interested to see how the taillight upgrade goes. You're basically just changing the illumination inside the tail light itself right? So externally it will be the same just brighter? How will you define a difference between tail lights and brake lights with leds? just have more wired up...

    LS1 pinging

My experience with pinging has always been high load low revs. As in driving along at 30kph and then putting it in 5th gear and putting my foot down. My ss does it when running on 91 on a hot day. I always run 98 because of pinging.

Spraypainting my VG work ute - the EPIC journey.

I'll put some photos up tomorrow or something. The tops of the skirt things ( does anyone know what the actual name for them is...?), where the rivets were is actually pretty flat its the sides of them that are out of whack, where the hooks for the tonneau cover are they're welded underneath and...

Spraypainting my VG work ute - the EPIC journey.

So to update..... Endless sanding. Lol. Doors are cleaned up and sanded to the point where they are ready to body fill some dents and finalize the prep. The rest of the body I ran over with a whizzy at 80 grit and then 180. Still gotta do a whole bunch of hand sanding to the body. Bonnet is...

car wont start after engine change???? help!!

I've always swapped them around depending on what you're trying to troubleshoot at the time you can read on the fusebox thingy generally what each relay is for and use one that is not essential for making the car start to switch around into some other positions.

Heat shielding for firewall and trans tunnel.

I've gotten jack of the amount of heat that comes through my firewall and along the gearbox tunnel, and just generally permeating the cab from the engine. I bought some header wrap spent an hour fiddling around with it on the passenger side, with the extractors on the car...had a couple of...

I'm planning on enclosing my carport area dexter style lol. Gonna get some cheap ass blue tarps from Bunnings and a tonne of plastic drop sheets I'll use to cover the brickwork ceiling and also for masking the car too. But I'll probably try to spray only the sides behind the doors the pillar and...

    tail shaft

+1 on diff backlash. My backlash is so bad i was scared to let anyone else drive my ute it just seemed like one little dump of the clutch would send metal bits flying out the diff.... A little bit of backlash is nothing new on a vr-vs with a bunch of k's or a few burnouts under its belt...

    Fuel pump fuse strange issue

Not really sure...The only way i have ever depressurised my fuel system, is by waiting till the car is cold, putting out my ciggy, dropping some sunnies over my eyes and undoing something, like a rubber hose at the back of the fuel rail...I've never seen any particularly impressive spouts of...

A Basic Backyarders Guide to Spraypainting.

I reckon i'd leave the stripes as is, it works the way it is now, and the stripe sort of returns on itself at the front and looks clean the way it is, i think if you put a stripe on the front bumper it would look wierd having the stripe hook around under the lion.

    vr won't start -_-

Yeah...first off... I hope all your power wiring for the sub and amp and stuff is good...and not grounding or doing anything funky. Second check that the battery isn't flat... Thirdly start going through the fuse box and see if any are blown. Did you do anything live while u were installing the...

Spraypainting my VG work ute - the EPIC journey.

Yeah looking into it at the moment. Like most things it comes down to a cost question. This whole project started out with a budget of nothing really. Original plan was to slap a door on and rattle can it white. I've already spent nearly 400 and I haven't bought any paint at all yet. After...

By the way.....my blackridge compressor died yesterday. After 3 weeks. It has a 12 month warranty and basically cost nothing in the deal i got it with so im not too butthurt about it. Though...its not going to just be replaced...I have to either take it down to the service centre myself, or take...

how dangerous is 2k spraying in back yard

I would say either go 2k or go acrylic. I dont see iso free 2k having an advantage over either. I think there's a reason why there isn't a whole lot of brands that do it.

Yeah...the bog looks good the problem is feathering so i dont have an edge where it starts/ends. Shouldn't be too hard anyways, its really a light skim anyway i've sanded through the edge a bit already. Yeah i've watched the custom spray mods videos. I've watched a tonne of videos...read a...

Vx electric seats into a Vg ute

Well, to be honest... If you pay an engineer to look at something you've done and know is safe and secure, and they give you a piece of paper, that classifies as money for nothing in my book...Or money for little... Either way i always planned to fit the seats in a manner that wouldn't require...

Vs ute clip on tonneau cover??

Dont do it, its a trap. These are mine at the moment because im trying to patch the holes that someone else had made putting one of those tonneau covers on at some point in my utes life, when i bought it there was a standardish elastic hook cover on it...So I assume they dont last...or...

I actually bought a bottle of rust convertor today too, but when i was reading it the label kind of said that it would convert rust now but wouldn't prevent future rust. I might give that stuff a go anyway as i already have it....Maybe if you dont wipe it off it will sort of leave a bit of...

Spraypainting my VG work ute - the EPIC journey.

So I was sanding away and I found this.... I think its previous bog work...doesn't seem too serious but i guess i gotta take it back past that now... Couple of questions...firstly there is pop rivet holes all along my rails with the tonneu hooks on them...trying to work out if i should...

how dangerous is 2k spraying in back yard

Good to know iso free 2k is on the same playing field as acrylic... I dont have an intimate knowledge of the applicable laws, i had just always gathered that it is illegal to spray 2k in your backyard. Even if its not illegal...it would be immoral to spray the stuff if kids playing in the...

how dangerous is 2k spraying in back yard

is iso free 2k legal to spray without a booth and stuff? Iso free 2k is like low tar cigarettes, its all bad for you...even acrylic will disagree with you if ur not using the right ppe. I'd be interested to know if isocynates or whatever its called was the only bad thing in 2k...that is...

Little pic of one of my leather seats mocked in there.
