But if you leave the engine to lunch itself and throw another motor in it then you may as well replace the worn bearing in the first place. Inlet manifold off and gearbox out knock the old bearing out and put a new one in. There is more to it than that but thats the short of it.

Video is set to private so we cant see it? At rear of engine it will be the balance shaft bearing, from what i've been told the gearbox has to come out to replace it.

Hey guys, Was just wondering what level of trim the SL or Fleet Pack VN's came with, painted bumpers, boot garnish, window surrounds etc mines had afew touch ups and i would like to take it back to how it was when it left the factory but with afew eye grabbers.

Okay i'll look into the timing chain and also the balance shaft, i have a set of inlet manifold gaskets here as well, i kind of dont want to start replacing things until i can pin point this knock, lets see if the tensioner is still intact and go from there.

Sorry i forgot to put that in there to, it does sound like a chain related noise i mean i hear every second vn-vr commodore making the same noise, the rattle i can fix but the engine knock is abit more worrying.

I keep getting told that commodores suck for towing, but the vr vs have a 2100kg tow rating pretty much anything newer than a vp has that in the commodore range, might have to sell the bandit and get a vr or vs wagon or ute. Here is the datto,

Okay new tail lights fitted, $49.99 from ebay for a pair of new berlina smoked ones. Wheels sprayed silver and i'm looking for some centre caps. Not sure if i should put a granny visor on it and some whitewalls or not.

i've thought about calais tail lights, i think they kind of look odd unless you have the calais boot garnish

The Beige Bandit has been trucking along, i had a slight coolant leak that got gradually worse to the point there was a puddle under the car from parking it overnight. I put it up on ramps and found not 1 weeping welsh plug but 2, i touched it with a long screwdriver and the plugs fell apart...

if its a small pin hole you can buy this stuff called seal-tab, its a powder you put in your radiator and it blocks small holes in the engine cooling system and radiator permanetly, atleast until you flush the system, its great stuff, i wouldnt promote it unless i have used it and it worked for...

The speedo will flick on and off when ever it feels like it, i wasnt sure if it was the speedo or the gear in the box that drives the speed sensor ( i'm used to toranas ) I'm down at Ettalong.
